Ford's wish was for the nomination to be withdrawn.

Instead Feinstein held - and we got a circus, Ms Ford in the center ring.

Only the lions were missing.  They came later - came after Kavanaugh.

Sorry, did you just have a stroke?

Chances of confirmation is always an issue

WEST WING had such an episode.  But the juror admitted to the act

I am not sure what Trump would have done re:  Kavanaugh but there were other highly qualified candidates

but Feinstein didnt give him the opportunity - and this of course was her plan all along (have to wonder how angry this made Ms Ford).

Feinstein will be COMPLICIT in Kavanaugh being a SC judge - should he get through - and you have to live with that.
I love that Kid, whose misogyny has been on display here for years, refers to her as "Ms [he couldn't even bring himself to put the period after the "S"] Ford" likely with the hope that we perceive how respectful he's being.  If you're going the title route, she's "Professor Ford" (or even "Dr. Ford"-hard as that may be for you to believe)  you patronizing dimwit.

Oh, I forgot, you like and respect "Katica" and Abby Huntsman.

heh

Havent seen a JUDGE Kavanaugh in many posts here.

Ms. is plenty appropriate.
Thanks for confirming.  As I pointed out, moron, if you're going the title route she's Professor Ford. I have no problem with calling her "Ford" or him "Kavanaugh."  It's your faux respect that's laughable.

Would it really be that disasterous for this country if Garland, a moderate Republican, was the next SC Justice?

No.  Of course not.

But would Hillary have even put forth Garland?

Not necessarily.  Not even likely.  She'd have had her own ideas, just like Trump has his.  And they'd have been slanted toward certain issues - as Democrats desired.

Its not about Hillary nominating Garland. The nomination was never her's to make.

its about Trump nominating a deeply partisan hack, with visible flaws AND McConnell sitting on Obama's nomination and refusing to allow a moderare Republican to be get any hearing as a legitimately nominated candidate.

A moderate Republican nominated by a Dem can't get a hearing?

Is that the model we want to drive us into the future?

a 51-49 majority of (Dems or Repubs) hi-jacking the process?

it was unconscionable, it was wrong and will set a dangerous precedent unless bi-partisan decency somehow regains a foot hold in a very slippery and murky swamp muddied by big-monied interests.

You don't get it yet, but if we continue to play this way, we're all fucked.

Someone with Newt Gingrich's masterful hold on US History might have quoted from Lincoln's Cooper Union speech at the time.

Certainly would have been more appropriate than doing so now.

kid get your facts straight. Dr. Ford brought her attention to her Congressperson when Kav's name was first mentioned on Trump's long-list, and well before he was nominated.

No kid you did not say that all along. You said that Dr. Ford wanted to stop the nomination. She informed her Congress person when his name first surfaced as one of 20 on a long-list of possible candidates.

Dr. Ford acted responsibly and in a timely manner.

You would be well advised to hold her up as a role model to your children as a true profile in courage.

Junior worries more about his sons getting accused of sexual harassment than of his daughters experiencing it.

Of course he does:

I really don't have a side kid.

Nor do I

Liar.

Your post praising Gingrich exposes it.

But of course, you will deny how obvious a lie that is the same way you do Kavanaugh's blatant lies and Redd does his.

You are beyond hope, Kiid.

So it seems McConnell will test Flake, and force a vote this week, calling the allegations against Kavanaugh "character assassination" and "obstruction."

Either Mitch McConnell doesn't know what those words mean, or kiidcarter8 is wrong (surprise!) that everyone believes Ms. Ford.

Or, apparently, he can schedule the vote on Friday immediately following the FBI's deadline giving Senators exactly no time to go over their conclusions, should they make any.

You truly think McConnell's immoral machinations can go no lower, then he shows you nope, there is no bottom for this pure partisan.

Quote
Quinnpiac poll finds that voters oppose confirming Kavanaugh by 48-42. But women oppose Kavanaugh by 55-37, and college educated white women oppose him by 58-34.

Meanwhile, overall voters believe Ford over Kavanaugh by 48 to 41. But women believe her over him by 55 to 35, and college-educated white women believe her by 61 to 31."

The less educated you are, the more likely you are to support Kavanaugh's nomination.

And men... well, what can I say. Men mostly don't care about sexual assault. And Republicans don't view it as a reason he should be excluded.

Mr. "I don't take sides" has not offered an opinion on that, that I can remember.

Remember whenever you deny something Kiid has said to add, "that I can remember."
