I show ID when I vote, even though IN MY STATE I am not required to.

You obviously ARE required to in AZ.  Which is what I meant - state by state - different rules.

And what whiskeypriest meant, if I may, is that in AZ you are required to show an ID in person while you can just sign an absentee vote because military members, unlike say African Americans or college students, vote Republican and are a constituency that no one has interest in disenfranchising.

Hasn't Governor Scott proclaimed exactly what Ms Snipes is guilty of?

Has he?  Then why is it that you can't say?

No State will ever make it difficult to vote absentee, regardless of the obvious risk of fraud, because it would disenfranchise the military. Neither party will do that, especially not Republicans who rely on the military vote in close elections.

Gotcha

Trump won the election fairly and squarely...under the same system that saw Obama elected President.
It was the "take our country back" era...First Brexit, then MAGA.

When you are manipulated, do your news people insert a hand and control you manually like a sock puppet or use strings to make you dance like a marionette?

No degree from Harvard was needed to see the "take our country back" mood of the times.
Britain was basically being governed from Brussels, and the People didn't like it...so they voted to leave the EU.
'Open borders' EU...anyone from EU countries just able to waltz into Britain...with Turkey about to be admitted...the UK people voted 'no thank you' and voted to leave the EU.

MAGA "Take our country back".

"Take our country back"...A rallying cry for people who think the United States has been "taken over" by anti-American socialists, foreigners, liberals, Marxists, minorities, etc.
And the brigades of 'political correctness', 'appeasement', and 'tolerance'.

Simple really...and Trump won the election.

Muslim community leaders have united in condemning politicians including Prime Minister Scott Morrison saying it is not their job to prevent terror attacks.
The peak body for Australian Muslims, the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils, has accused the government of “insulting” their community.

The latest outrage came as Mr Morrison ramped up his criticism of the Islamic community as he visited Melbourne’s Pellegrini’s cafe yesterday to pay his respects to beloved restaurateur Sisto Malaspina who was stabbed to death in Friday’s violence.

He said imams should “stop sticking their heads in the sand” and do more to stop the radicalisation of young Muslims.

“I won’t cop the excuses,” the Prime Minister said.

“For those who want to stick their head in the sand, for those who want to make excuses for those who stick their head in the sand, you are not making Australia safer. You are giving people an excuse to look the other way and not deal with things right in front of you.

“If there are people in a religious community, an Islamic community, that are bringing in hateful, violent, extremist ideologies into your community, you’ve got to call it out.”

Well there you go.

Sisto's seat was empty, and the People are outraged that he was stab-slaughtered by an Islamic terrorist;

Empty seat for Melbourne terror victim

A coffee machine burbles, the smell of freshly-ground beans fill the air: it's like so many other mornings at the popular Melbourne cafe, except a star attraction is missing.

Sisto Malaspina's bar stool stands empty, facing a burning candle, a folded newspaper and one of his favourite long black coffees on the counter.

They would have bee  much happier had he been killed by a white supremacist.

For those that like to call out, "LIAR!"

:Republicans in Washington urged McSally to continue to churn up conspiracy theories and contest the results....."

- MS's Mika B..

Nice bit of fiction.

1) Trump lies more frequently about more things in a month than Mika can be shown to have done in her television career.

2) Trump's casual lies injure the country as well as individuals within the country to a far grosser extent than the worst lie told by a media member -- any media member -- ever.

3) He is a public official. She is a member of the media. While she should not be lying, his doing so, which you are so eager to excuse by saying "but what about her?!" is far worse in its basic nature.

but

4) She was reporting a story from elsewhere. The lie, if it were a lie, is not hers. But as it turns out, it wasn't a lie, at all.

____________

The GOP has been screaming about conspiracy theories everywhere they are losing (or at risk of losing) because all the ballots are being counted.

Oddly enough, the Democratic Party candidates who are in identical positions are making no such claims.

So, based on a quick calculation, in the three battleground states that put Trump over the top, Democrats outperformed Republicans in Congressional races:

Wisky: 125000 votes
Michigan: 286000 votes
Penn: 491000 votes

Now, there are a lot of reasons why congressional races go the way they do. And each state had one district where there was no Republican in the race - I arbitrarily gave any votes for third or fourth party candidates to the Republican total. But these are states Trump has to win in 2020, and voters in a time of.relative peace and prosperity opted against the party in power.
