The humanitarian crisis south of the border, caused by the United States twice over, prompted a couple different reactions.

In one case, some migrants attempted to gain entry by going through a hole in a fence or climbing over it. In the other case, a group of migrants approached the border to request that the United States speed up the vetting and to call attention to their plight.

The second group got gassed. It is unclear that those trying to go through the fence did.

Mexico claims they will deport the "violent" migants who approached the US border. There is a reason that government lost the election.

The ones in Mexico are trying to cross the land border instead of the ocean.

Australia decided it was a very bad idea to just let anyone and everyone onto its soil without thorough investigation.
Onshore detention centres didn't work...failed asylum-seekers kept appealing thru the courts...at taxpayers' expense.
And the boat 'taxi-service' from Indonesia was delivering "refugees" in a continual stream...costing taxpayers billions.
Some people from Pakistan were saying they were from Afghanistan, etc. Others had criminal records. Some were people-smugglers themselves.

In 2013 the Conservative govt put a stop to it...turned back the boats to Indonesia...Indonesia was outraged.
Rumour has it that some officials in Indonesia were doing quite nicely thank you when the trade was in full swing.

Trump has done exactly the right thing stopping the caravaners from waltzing in over the Mexican border just because they feel like it.
"Turn back the boats/caravaners" is the only thing to do to maintain 'sovereign borders'...the integrity of an orderly immigration system.

You can explain to a person entrenched in ignorance, a thousand times, that systemic racism doesn't consist just of blocked access to the polling station.  Some simply cannot see beyond their bubble.  If Kid really thinks Hyde-Smith can compartmentalize her racism and keep it out of her work in Congress, then there's nothing more to be said.
