Big day on the forum

Heh.

Mattis-with 40 years of defense and national security expertise, resigns as Sec of Defense, as he can't work with a treacherous and dangerous idiot as commader in chief.

Sure.

US should never have been in Syria supporting with troops the Muslim rebels/Islamic State or whoever they were/are against the protector of the Christians Assad in the first place.
Assad and Putin had it sorted.
US v Putin and Assad … in Syria, the Middle East...big waste of time, money and possible American lives that one.

Troops home now!   for Christmas!
Still a few days left yet to get them home.

Trump is absolutely doing the right thing!

My views on treating allies with respect and also being clear-eyed about both malign actors and strategic competitors are strongly held and informed by over four decades of immersion in these issues.  We must do everything possible to advance an international order that is most conducive to our security, prosperity, and values, and we are strengthened in this effort by the solidarity of our alliances.

Because you have the right to have a Secretary of Defense whose views are better aligned with yours on these and other subjects, I believe it is right for me to step down from my position.

Kind of amazing that Mattis articulates what should be a straightforward and given view on international policy and then basically says that Trump does not share that view.

Well sure.  This is what happens when your "President" is in Putin's pocket and honestly could not give two shits about the importance of America maintaining its standing in the world order.  The only interests Trump is interested in advancing are his own.

Has nothing at all to do with Putin.

Your insider knowledge is astounding!

So what if everybody in the military thinks Trump's nuts, but Putin approves of it.

Nothing at all to do with Putin.

The mind boggles.

Policymakers have severely underestimated the risks of ecological tipping points, according to a study that shows 45% of all potential environmental collapses are interrelated and could amplify one another.

The authors said their paper, published in the journal Science, highlights how overstressed and overlapping natural systems are combining to throw up a growing number of unwelcome surprises.

“The risks are greater than assumed because the interactions are more dynamic,” said Juan Rocha of the Stockholm Resilience Centre. “The important message is to recognise the wickedness of the problem that humanity faces.”

I be got to hand it to Mattis. He managed to both serve and leave with Honor and dignity for the most part, despite the shit show.

Individual 1 will look to put in a flunky who will let him nuke Australia next time Nancy imasculates him.

As a surrender monkey, trump is top notch. He just so clumsy with his espionage.

You can execute for espionage even when you can charge treason.

Just ask Ethel.

How many dead/maimed for life America troops are you prepared to sacrifice to continue the madness of fighting with the rebels/IS against Assad-Putin?
Madness it surely is.

Death will have something to say about that, Bambi.

So far, the number of American troops killed in Syria is five.

More US soldiers die from suicide every day than that total from Syria.

Quote
The report shows the total is 20.6 suicides every day. Of those, 16.8 were veterans and 3.8 were active-duty servicemembers, guardsmen and reservists, the report states. That amounts to 6,132 veterans and 1,387 servicemembers who died by suicide in one year.

Honest, Bambi, stick to something you know something about. (There must be something, right?)

Putin Welcomes Trump’s Syria Withdrawal: ‘Donald’s Right’

President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia on Thursday welcomed President Trump’s announcement of a withdrawal of American troops from Syria, calling it “the right decision.”

The Russian leader expressed skepticism, however that American forces would actually withdraw, as the United States had announced a pullout from Afghanistan by 2014 but still has forces in that country today.

“We don’t see any signs yet of the withdrawal of U.S. troops,” he said. “How long has the United States been in Afghanistan? Seventeen years? And almost every year they say they’re pulling out their troops.”

Regarding Syria, he said, Mr. Trump made the right decision because the American troops are in the country illegally, never having been invited by the Syrian government, as Russian forces were.

Just a manic desire to lick any jackboot placed in front of you no matter how shit or blood stained it is.

It’s odd to watch a creature fall right out of the human race. There are so many examples right now of odd ducks free falling, Bambu among them.

Honest, Bambi, stick to something you know something about. (There must be something, right?)

I know something about a lot of things.
One thing I know is that if you call off the engagement you're supposed to give the ring back...not keep it.

https://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/videos/paris-hilton-im-illegally-keeping-my-2-dollars-million-engagemen/

Paris Hilton broke off her engagement with actor Chris Zylka.

Fans wonder exactly what happened. Chris wants to know when he's getting his $2 million engagement ring back.
It turns out that he could be left waiting a long time. Paris says that she's keeping it, no matter what the law says.

#####

And women today wonder why 'men are angry', and not wanting to get married. LOL

Simple solutions though...

. Never give a $2m ring.
. Never give a $6000 ring if you can't afford to kiss the money goodbye [my friend's son got done for 6 grand almost 20 years ago...the girl called off the wedding and kept the ring.]
. Give a can ring-pull with a few tiny sparkling glass beads stuck onto it...after all it's all about love and not rings, isn't it?

. No wanna give ring-pull with glass beads?   then be very careful how much the cost is raised...cause that cost could disappear as fast as the "Yes".
