For those who care about the rule of law, vs. Bambi who only cares what Trump says he can do:

https://www.brennancenter.org/analysis/emergency-powers

There are limits to what he can and cannot do and ways to reign him in if he exceeds his authority.

Given that the situation at the Mexican border is far better than his administration likes to say it is, no such emergency exists - no matter what Bambi or Trumpi say.

NYT on the topic:

No emergency? no Democrat funding the wall?.....looks like the govt's gonna be closed for a while.
If he backs down he's gonna look weak.

The wall was needed when the caravaners tried to storm the border.

Integrity needs to be restored to the employment sector...illegal immigration and its cheap labor rorts must end.
Proper jobs and proper wages for all Americans!

Sheriff Joe tried to do it, but was fought at every turn...the majority of Americas seemingly loving cheap labor.

Trouble is...majority of Americans seem to love heaping 'honey' onto the table...not taking it off.

'Honey' = free housing, free schooling, free food, free clothing, free medical care, free hospitals, free jobs [no lining up]...etc etc etc.

Yeah!

If only we got rid of the kind of country we want to live in, people wouldn't want to live here as much!

No wonder you think highly of President Trump.

You have people storming the southern border for all the 'honey'/free stuff.
No 'honey'...but offshore detention centres then resettlement in a third country instead...see how many want to come then.

Looks like much of the honey on the table in America has been taken off already;

https://www.sbs.com.au/news/nauru-president-claims-refugees-resettled-in-us-are-trying-to-return

Nauru president claims refugees resettled in US are trying to return

The President of Nauru Baron Waqa has reportedly claimed 40 out of 300 asylum seekers detained on the island and later resettled in the US wanted to come back.
Dozens of refugees who left Nauru to resettle in the United States want to come back to the Pacific island nation, Nauru's President claims.

President Baron Waqa says 40 of the 300 people sent to the US have contacted the government asking to return because life there isn't "easy".
But life in Nauru is cheap, warm and relaxed, Mr Waqa told The Australian in a report published on Friday.

"The US - it's a difficult place to live, a lot of competition for work and jobs," he said.

His comments come after Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton last month said refugees resettled in the US have been complaining back to friends in Nauru about the conditions in their new country.

"We are seeing ... reports of people that have gone from Nauru to the United States saying it is harder than they thought because they need to find work in the United States," he told parliament.

"They are saying to people on Nauru now you would be better to go to New Zealand or Australia because they have a better welfare system."

You and sheriff joe can start your own country on the Pacific garbage patch. It’s probably the only place that would take you. Take the trumps, the Murdochs, and any other parasites you can round up. You can profess your superior values as all you useless fucks starve together.

You've mad a solid argument, man, for putting a fence, man, around the entire U.S., man. Truth be told, man, not only do I not want everybody to come in, MAN, I'd like my own personal authority to send people out. Man.

LoL,  man.  When I took a logic class in college,  I remember learning the fallacy of "the excluded middle."  Our more partisan members do it constantly - everything is binary for them: either we have a continuous 2000 mile wall or we abandon the border and invite all of Latin America to come in anytime.  Not like there are other solutions between those extremes...

Clearly, no wall was needed - they didn't get in.

The American unemployment rate (according to DimBulb) is at the lowest ever, so no, we don't need it for "integrity" in the employment center. We have companies suffering because they cannot find enough labor.

And Sheriff Joe was a criminal and remains a criminal, despite Trump's efforts to clear the crook.

After being teargassed etc.
As I remember it, leftists went beserk at the time about the 'violence' used.

There was a wall...of 'troops' armed with gas.
Of course that's an alternative to a wall...bring the troops back from Syria/Afghanistan/Australia etc [allow Australia to have nukes instead] and have them seal the border.
No added expense...troops are being paid anyway.
Troops armed with guns, real bullets, rubber bullets, gas.

Guest worker programs would work if overseen properly.

Who said anything about 'superior values'.
Just different ways of doing things.

'Open borders' has been a disaster in Australia, Europe, now Britain...same as multiculturalism has been a massive failure in those places...despite how much the politicians etc talk it up.
People are being hacked to death etc on London bridge, in Europe everywhere, and now in the streets in Australia.
...and gunned down in America by illegal immigrants.

Nielsen got her Doc request and has to turn in her bloody handprints by Jan 18th. The hearings following on that will show the type of fiasco the coup has been cooking up on the southern border.

Understanding Marginal Tax Rates
« Reply #8039 on: January 06, 2019, 10:37:31 PM »

The percentage of Democratic Party members who just don't understand marginal tax rates is awful.

That the Republican Party members are so much worse is horrifying! No wonder the GOP's elected officials are so bad at governance and at understanding taxation!
