Steel wall...instead of concrete Trump's compromise to Democrats.
Great idea...jobs, jobs, jobs for American steel workers.

There must be border security.

Liberal elites consider steelworkers deplorable. Unemployed aliens and their anchor babies are the only ones who count.

Nielsen got her Doc request and has to turn in her bloody handprints by Jan 18th. The hearings following on that will show the type of fiasco the coup has been cooking up on the southern border.

Uninvited caravan people were trying to crash in over the southern border.
On any given day other people are simply walking in over that border...that's no security at all.

Meanwhile back at all the US airports customs people/cops etc are working very diligently to make sure everyone entering America is doing so with the correct documentation and approvals from the federal govt.
They must be absolutely horrified when they see what's going on at the border/s [waltzing-inners will get around to the Canadian border soon enough...you can just get out a car or off a bicycle and walk a few metres and you're into America...no fence, no wall, nothing.]

That might actually be a prerequisite to reading Ms Coulter.

Which somehow reminds me of a Groucho Ism...

Strawman.  Name a liberal who deemed steelworkers deplorable.  Actually, name a liberal who hasn't opposed trade policy which compromised our supply of steel to said workers.

Does the Left now have a Trump-style prevaricator?  We really don't need that right now...

Her justification for her falsehood sounded very similar to what Trump sometimes does.  And you wonder why, in a recent Gallup survey, 42% of voters identified as Independent.

100% agree, this was a horrible response to the question of fact-checking.  The response needs to be that government can not negotiate the challenges it faces without a set of agreed-upon facts, and distorting those facts for political gain is unacceptable.  In this particular case, she misinterpreted the chunk of article she was quoting from, and should have admitted to that.

She is being put under a spotlight that is at once an opportunity, but also a challenge for a freshman congressperson with no prior experience in governing.  I've enjoyed her taking more experienced colleagues to task (see her response to Scalise distortion of matginal tax rates) but some humility when she is wrong would go a long way.

I should say, I think this comes down at the moment to a bad response in an interview, and not her governing style.  Generally she tries to make fact-based arguments, even if she on occasion gets the facts wrong.  This should be distinguished from Trump's deliberate distortions.

A full accounting of military waste and embezzlement would go a long way to clearing up the issue, but the pentagon and its attendant profiteers will fight a full audit tooth and nail.

Trump is looking for a way to back out of his empty shutdown without looking like he’s bending over for Democrats they way he’s happy to do for Russian oligarchs.

When Individual 1 talks about building something with steel, he means using Russian steel as he has already has for leaky pipelines. The best chance American workers have for getting a bump from trump’s wall fiasco is supplying material for the copious cartel tunnels that will foil it.
