Tony, for all that you seem delusional on this point, Jared Kushner still has you beat.

https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/trump-speech-shutdown-border/h_afa9883e6ecdec3306de818d728929fe

He believes that after Trump's speech, public opinion will shift in Trump's favor on this issue.

In the name of honesty:

Quote
According to a senior administration official familiar with Customs and Border Protection data, just 12 non-US citizens on the terror watch were encountered on the southern border between October 2017 and October 2018.

Mind you, that disagrees with another government source or two, but still - it is more than zero and roughly 0.3% (three tenths of one percent) of the initially claimed number.

Meanwhile, in Muellerland:

https://www.cnn.com/2019/01/08/politics/supreme-court-mueller-mystery-case/index.html

SCOTUS refused to block a $50,000/day fine of the company that is trying to resist the Grand Jury Suboena and the connected contempt finding against them. The fine has not previously been building, but it will as of tomorrow, even as their appeal goes on.

There were no noted dissents in the SCOTUS finding. This does not bode well for the company's hopes in the end.

Only 12 terrorists? Only takes one to wipe out a school or destroy a night club, poison a water supply, or blow up a parade. Zero tolerance for violent primitives?

0 actual terrorists.  6 for persons on the watchlist is the number I have seen, and mind you there is nothing to indicate they were attempting entry through anything except legal ports of entry.  50 on our northern border where you can backpack on a nice walk through the woods without braving the Sonoran Desert.

Not 12 terrorists.  12 people stopped because their name is on a terrorist watchlist that is known for duplication and being conservative re: possible terror ties.  Its why there is no contradiction with the State Department finding which said there was no credible evidence of terror activity crossing the border.  Stopping someone on the border on the list (something that happens 10 times more often on our northern border) is not evidence of terror activity.

Its funny; when it comes to allowing people on the terror watchlist to buy guns, Trump and his crew seem to understand the limits of this definition.  When it comes to the Southern border, they are all terrorists!

Whatever argument suits them.

No evidence that the talks are doing anything major, but as one person put it, no fist fights have broken out, either.

“and won’t prevent border crossings or drugs”

Heh.  Good one.  Unwrgw
The only place where drugs enter the country in a near endless string of men toting 20 pound bales across the desert are in the fevered and calf-obsessed wet dreams on Congressman King.  Most drugs enter through legal ports - in cars and trucks, hidden in legal shipments, foot traffic across bridges.  The rest enter through more cost effective, vastly personally safer, less labor intensive means.  Internegalean tunnels, boats, drones, small planes onto makeshift air fields, bales of cocaine falling from low flying planes onto the farm of Rev. Horton Heat, that kind of thing.  Not in small amounts carried through dangerous extreme conditions by individuals.  Nothing the wall would stop.

https://www.cnn.com/2019/01/08/politics/us-china-trade-talks-extended/index.html

No evidence that the talks are doing anything major, but as one person put it, no fist fights have broken out, either.

We need to send them the good stuff, good healthy organic food, good California cheese, and California wine, and prime beef from Nevada, etc. As we expand trade with China it is upsetting that they are trying to sell them bad stuff like genetically modified seeds, etc. Let us expand trade, and we have good wholesome food and wine from California that we can send to the Chinese.

Oregon has good frozen and canned vegetables. Wisconsin sells great cheese. Idaho grows great potatoes. We can send the Chinese the good stuff, and they will be happy and they will buy more American products.

They can also buy Chevy Camaros, and Jeeps, and Ford pick-up trucks, etc. And Harley Davidson motorcycles.

There are many products that we can export to China.

And we need copyright protection on our films and music, and we need patent protection on our inventions, etc, etc, etc.

Also, they need to pay their workers fair, and they need to treat their workers better, and we need to have a punishment for them if they sell artificially low-priced goods because of the use of artificially low-priced slave labor.

And we need to support labor unions in China which are independent of their government.

Those are some of my thoughts on that.

And the talks on the issue of trade need to last for more than two days, we need to discuss the whole kit and caboodle. There is a lot to discuss.

California lost over five hundred thousand jobs to China alone. There is a lot to discuss.

Salute,

Tony V.

Tony has a better shot with the Princess than you do that Trump would create "an artful thing of beauty."

It would be remembered for centuries in roughly the same breath and tone as the Maginot Line.

Luee, weren’t you just arguing that we should shutter all the airports? I think you’ve become a bit confused.

Since neither trump nor Santorum have won an election in the past decade, I guess it’s good all the decompensating old men are getting on the same page. Solidarity in the dotard class. Kid is on board, ready to sling whole spoonfuls of his mushy peas.

Trump’s con game is unraveling.

Trump opened by going right to those folks he asked, “What the hell do you have to lose?” I was surprised he didn’t mention criminal justice reform and black unemployment since they have become part of his greatest hits list.

Criminal records? He ran the fear mongering script about the thousands of violent crimes committed by “illegals” but never mentioned the couple million traffic tickets.

He speaks of a humanitarian “Crisis of heart and soul” at the southern border while dripping crocodile tears for the human suffering his policies have enhanced. Anecdotes about Human smugglers, rapists, and drug gangs guaranteed to scare the shit out of his base of angry fearful white people.

Now he tries to reassure his base by promising to “Keep America safer than ever before” which is a continuation of his “the country is a disgrace” but because of him and his booming economy the country is so great all these illegals want to come here, take your job, steal your car and rape your daughters.

He’s struggling with his delivery because though he keeps dropping tried and true rally applause lines, doing so to a camera in an empty setting isn’t giving him the jolt he craves... his presentation is filled with vacuous bullshit about money for what he calls  “humanitarian assistance” but really means easier detentions and deportations.

He gave up on the concrete wall for a bullshit steel barrier, then he trotted out the wall will pay for itself. Then the piece de resistance “Mexico will pay indirectly for wall.” The “Big beautiful Wall” is now “give me something I can call a wall.”

Now he is blaming all the ills in American history on the Democrats. Democrats are un-American have refused to acknowledge the crisis so shutdown is because Dems won’t fund border security but wealthy Democrats build walls around their homes.

Wrapping up with a reminder of the horrors brown people from South of the Border are wreaking on the poor defenseless hard working MAGA hat devotees.
Back to the greatest hits with a litany of murders by illegal aliens immigration.
Here’s one line verbatim, “Rape, murdered, and beaten to death.”

“So sad, so terrible.”

Then the patriotic word salad… “American blood, Choice between right and wrong, Sacred duty, Swore to protect our country so help me god.”

Same old set list.

Same old lies…

Stick a fork in him… he’s done.
