Hi Tony –
President Trump just tried on national TV to make a case for his border wall – but it failed. When he says "border security," he means separating and jailing families and children, firing tear gas at asylum seekers, and above all – that multi-billion dollar wall. Trump manufactured a humanitarian crisis at the border, and now he's shutting down the government until he gets his wall.
Our senators have the power to fight back by refusing to bend to the president's will. It's up to us to raise our voices to make loud and clear what we, the people, want: No wall and no raise for Homeland Security to jail and terrorize immigrants.
Send a message to your senators right now: We won't allow our taxpayer dollars to fund the wall and give DHS a raise.
Let's be clear: The so-called border crisis is a product of Trump's imagination and the cruelty of his DHS. Border apprehensions are at some of the lowest levels in decades. Most of the people coming to our southwest border are families and children seeking asylum.
Instead of seeking billions more of our money for a border wall, the Trump administration should use existing resources to treat arriving migrants humanely and with due process. Seeking asylum is a legal right, and one that we will continue to fight to protect.
This is urgent: Write to your senators and demand they take a stand against Trump's border wall and against giving billions more to DHS.
We must reopen the government by voting to pass the spending bills just passed in the House – bills that don't give Trump his wall or DHS a raise. We shouldn't reward an agency that has torn apart so many lives.
If enough of us write to our senators to demand immediate action, we can pressure them to stand firm against Trump and bring this shutdown to its rightful end – without providing a penny for the border wall.

We do not need a wall with Canada, and we do not need a wall with Mexico.
We can work together with our good Christian neighbors, Canada and Mexico, to battle crime together, and to stop terrorism together, etc, etc, etc.
We can achieve more by working together with our neighbors, instead of building walls.
We won two world wars, and the Cold War, without building any walls, and we do not need a wall now.
And we have our Statue of Liberty welcoming the tired, the poor, and the huddled masses.
NO WALL!
Salute,
