The investigation inching ever closer to Trump.

Will be interesting to see how Trump reacts if/when Don Jr or Kushner gets indicted.

I assume Cohen and Stone are important because it's less likely to get Don Jr or Kushner to flip and testify against Trump.

Mueller certainly doing a methodical job.

The latest from presidential- candidate wannabe Elizabth Warren, trying to keep up with AOC on “let’s keep soaking the rich”.

United States Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) today unveiled the Ultra-Millionaire Tax, a bold proposal to tax the wealth of the richest 0.1% of Americans. The legislation, which applies only to house-holds with a net worth of $50 million or more, is estimated by leading economists to raise $2.75 trillion in tax revenue over a ten-year period.

Those “ leading “ economists come from the usual cast of leftist characters but that is irrelevant.
Warren’s proposal is clearly unconstitutional.
Which is irrelevant to her purpose.
Which is to further the democrat strategy of only taxing the rich.

For most of the history of the USA  we did not even have a border patrol.

We need to work together with our good neighbors as a team on issues which are important to all of us, we can work together to fight terrorism, and to stop illegal drugs, etc.

And we need to make it possible for our neighbors to peacefully, and legally, live, and work, and go to school, and stuff, in the USA, just as people from the USA need to be allowed to live, and work, and go to school, and stuff, in Mexico and in Canada, etc. Many people want to move to Mexico when they retire. And many Americans move to Canada for film and television jobs, and for other things (We need to bring those jobs back to California, but they have a right to shoot films and television in Canada). Also, many Americans want foreign brides, and husbands, and we need to make it easy for family members, etc. People need to be able to move about freely, the same as how a person from Ireland can go live in Italy. We are all allies here in the Western Hemisphere, we do not need walls.

We need for our Statue of Liberty to represent what we stand for as Americans, not a thirty foot wall on our southern border.

We won two world wars, and the Cold War, without building any walls, and we do not need any walls now.

We need to work together as a team, we need teamwork, not walls.

Salute,

Tony V.

Still hot for AOC,  after seeing that rooftop dance, eh.   Too much car for you,  I suspect.

Read 16th Amendment (It fails as an income tax) and Article I, Section 9, Clause 4 (It fails because it is an unapportioned direct tax).

re constitutionality of the Warren proposal

https://www.bostonglobe.com/news/politics/2019/01/24/elizabeth-warren-will-propose-wealth-tax-very-rich/9PYJIr0xLrdSjvXX7h0szM/story.html

"Laurence Tribe, a constitutional law scholar at Harvard, said he and about a half dozen other law professors reviewed Warren’s plan in recent days and signed onto a letter saying they believed it passed constitutional muster."

I'm assuming Red was not one of the six constitutional scholars called upon to give a legal opinion.

Ann Coulter probably wasn't either.

Implementing both the Warren and AOC proposals would make a good start repairing the defective policies that republicans have been infecting our system with since they elevated Bonzo’s co-star to lead chimp.

You can’t take it with you, but you can take it pretty far if the feds draw revenue to keep up the infrastructure.

Both ideas are sounder and more popular than anything that ever came from the right.

As for the Russia investigation and the many crimes of Individual 1,

Mitch is complicit.

Mitch did conspire.

Today, the Red Sox announced postponement of their trip to the White House, not liking the idea of visiting while the staff were working, but unpaid.

Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors were in DC and took advantage of their visit to see the president.

President Obama, that is.

Lol. My prediction not off by much.

Trump campaign colluded with the Russians, as Pelosi makes the great negotiator look like a third grader.

Enter REDSTATEWARD:   AOC!  Warren!  Unconstitutional!

Michelle Goldberg, as per usual, on point:

One effect of this government shutdown, now in its second month and without immediate end in sight, is to reveal the sham of Trump’s purported populism. It’s true, he’s able to connect culturally with some economically precarious parts of America. Despite being expensively educated, his worldview is basically that of Archie Bunker. He eats fast food, likes pro wrestling and has the terrible taste in interior design common to arriviste dictators. His vulgarity creates a kinship with people who purport to hate elites.

Yet in purely financial terms, Trump is as elitist as they come. Though he campaigned as a candidate of (white) workers, he has governed as a shameless oligarch. He has proudly surrounded himself with millionaires and billionaires, seeing their wealth as evidence of their worth. At a rally in 2017, speaking of his economic advisers, he said, “But in those particular positions, I just don’t want a poor person.” He has gone out of his way not to hire anyone who would actually understand the plight of the workers he’s holding hostage.

Alright - that's enough!

I will not have Mr Trump's taste in decor mocked.

Damn that Goldberg

(actually I have always liked her)

Yes no dirty filthy wall. No public works or infrastructure improvements. FDR will be tossing in his grave.

For public works projects we can build high speed trains, we can take all of the unemployed people and give them jobs building high speed rail projects. We can also build more dams, and aqueducts, and we can convert everyone over to clean energy. We do not necessarily need to fund everything up front, some work can be done by giving tax breaks to business leaders.

And we can do public works to reduce forest fires in our national parks, etc. We can hire unemployed people to clean up dead brush, and to plant trees, and to do other work in our national parks.

We do not need any walls, and those are not the kind of jobs that people need. And it is sickening when people think that putting babies in cages is creating jobs, those are not the kind of jobs that we want, we are not like that.

We can create public works jobs by doing healthy things, and things which benefit our environment, etc.

We also need better trade deals, to help our unemployed people, there is a lot that we need to do. And Mexico is California's number one trade partner. We have a new trade deal now with Mexico, and with Canada, and hopefully Canada will buy more wine and cheese from California, etc, those are the kind of jobs that we need.

We also have jobs in the aerospace and defense industries, etc. People want to put a colony on Mars. There are a lot of cool jobs created in the aerospace and defense industries.

We also need to create more jobs that people can do from home offices. With modern technology many people can work from home.

We can do many things to create jobs, and there are public works projects which can be done which benefit everyone.

We do not need any walls. And we can work together as a team with our neighbors on the common issues such as battling against terrorism, and against illegal drugs, etc.

Salute,

Tony V.

A WALL IS NOT INFRASTRUCTURE.

Is that really so hard to understand?

Have you read Trump's so-called Infrastructure Plan?!

Or are you going to keep beating this bogus drum?
