Yes no dirty filthy wall. No public works or infrastructure improvements. FDR will be tossing in his grave.

A WALL IS NOT INFRASTRUCTURE.

Is that really so hard to understand?

Have you read Trump's so-called Infrastructure Plan?!

Or are you going to keep beating this bogus drum?

No it is controlled tax and spend in Keynesian terms combined with the multiplier effect, all is good. Yes a really big public works program to improve and secure our borders. The argument against typical elitist emotionalism, dead babies and animals (just in; the wall theoretically could hurt the grey wolf). But what about the American worker, the jobs created, the economy dummies?

Yeah, what about the American worker!

As has been pointed out to you before, but which you keep ignoring, we have billions of dollars of infrastructure that needs building, Luee - bridges, roads, water systems, schools, dams! We don't lack for places to put that money, tasks that are far more needed than the border with Mexico.

Republicans can remove him simply by opening the books on Deutsche Bank.

It’s where trump got the money for his yak dung cigarettes.

Govt shutdown over...temporarily [if the main man has any sense he'll let temporarily drag on for a couple of years.]

A good public works project would be to provide healthy water to people in Michigan.

We have thousands of places in the US with worse water than Flint.

Flint was fine until the Michigan GOP poisoned them in an ill thought out scheme to save a few bucks.

Andy Dillon is a Democrat

Appointed by the guy who calls himself “One tough nerd” GOP gov Snyder.

Next.

The latest from presidential- candidate wannabe Elizabth Warren, trying to keep up with AOC on “let’s keep soaking the rich”.

United States Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) today unveiled the Ultra-Millionaire Tax, a bold proposal to tax the wealth of the richest 0.1% of Americans. The legislation, which applies only to house-holds with a net worth of $50 million or more, is estimated by leading economists to raise $2.75 trillion in tax revenue over a ten-year period.

Those “ leading “ economists come from the usual cast of leftist characters but that is irrelevant.
Warren’s proposal is clearly unconstitutional.
Which is irrelevant to her purpose.
Which is to further the democrat strategy of only taxing the rich.

How is it unconstitutional?

Read 16th Amendment (It fails as an income tax) and Article I, Section 9, Clause 4 (It fails because it is an unapportioned direct tax).
The 16th was written precisely because of the gross impracticality of apportionment.  It chucked out apportionment for income tax.  Just because the very rich earn money in a different way doesn't mean that apportionment suddenly becomes sensible again.   Courts have generally rejected apportionment, and it clearly makes no sense when people earn money across multiple state borders.   Think about it.
You need to think about it.
The 16th Amendment allows “ income” from all sources to be taxed. But the government cannot reach into your pocket and tax money you already paid taxes on.

Yeah, like an inheritance tax! Or a property tax!

Oops.
Josh. Ignorance of our laws is something a global moderator ought to be ashamed of.

I dodged that bullet, then!

No specifics from you, because you have no real point, just a need to contradict.

The Flint River for decades was GM's sewer. When I was a sophomore in college, with three friends, i participated in a raft race on the Flint River. At the end, my very large friend John tried to jump out of the raft, thinking we were shallow, and su merged. He had running shits for two weeks and wound up dehydrated in the ER. The Republican appointed emergency managers for the City switched the water supply from Lake Huron to that.

Today's decision was solid  And we move on.

Applause for the government workers who saw it through with minimal to no whining.  Raspberries to Atencio (MS) - see story on "chemo vs groceries" - and her ilk for sensationalizing individual stories after digging them up (and likely getting door slammed in her face more than once)

I wish people would read or listen to my words on the Border Wall. This was in no way a concession. It was taking care of millions of people who were getting badly hurt by the Shutdown with the understanding that in 21 days, if no deal is done, it’s off to the races!

So, right back to hurting millions of people if he doesn't get what he wants.

"Solid" decision-making.

Message to Dems to get to work..  Shouldnt have to be said
While the gymnastics you are performing to avoid recognizing the total defeat Trump walked himself into are indeed impressive,  this is beyond the pale. The issue is right now precisely where the Dems have said it should be from the start: congress. Where Democrats have always been willing to discuss immigration, and where there will be a broad based agreement on enhanced border security. And no wall. Your man will not get what he shut down the government for.  No wall. No asylum restrictions. And his defeat .Evans Trump will not try to leverage a shut down threat to force other unpopular aspects of his immigration agenda through.

Dems are working.

Trump, the poor bastard,  is still having a tough time adjutsting his golf swing with the cone he's wearing after Pelosi nutted him yesterday.

But hard-working Nancy took him for his morning walk this AM, and Schumer got the afternoon duty.

She still doesn't want him in the House though yowling and crying and shitting all over the place.

He needs to be House trained first.

The "Art of the Deal" was a phrase that came out of my mouth 30 years ago as a way for Trump to write an autobiography he didn't have. It was a fake marketing idea, not a reality. I regret it every day of my life. Yesterday he put a final nail in the fantasy I helped to create.

A good many in middle America believe that secure borders are more important than roads or bridges. Not the PC elite of course. Why not do everything instead of whining? Illegals are not escaping persecution but looking for a free lunch.
