I hope Northam resigns ASAP. "He's become a better person" and/or "it was a youthful indiscretion" don't do much for me here.

.

If we all are held accountable for any bigotry we harbored in our youth, does that mean we deny public service to talented people?  (and who would be left to serve?)
LOL  I think you are a little late to the party with that observation. Maybe because the latest 'victim' has a  d next to his ballot name.

You overlooked the phrase "in our youth."

Apples and oranges. But you would not ever be able to acknowledge it.
No you won't..  Thats your problem   Without double standards you would have none.

"No you won't."

I presume you meant to write "No, you won't," with your patented "I know you are, but what am I" or "whatever you say bounces of me and sticks to you like glue" middle school retorts.

I've already pointed out that the Dems' response to this kind of crap is palpably different from the GOP's. You've illustrated it perfectly yourself with your denial, for example, that the North Carolina GOP legislators who gerrymandered on racial lines, according to multiple courts, was racist. Your endless support for racist policies and politicians while insisting that you would never do such a thing is a textbook example of both double standards and of your claiming others do what you do, but insisting that you don't.

See also voter fraud by the GOP, sexism by the GOP, ethnic discrimination by the GOP, and a host of other forms of bigotry and fraud.

You are, were, and seem almost certain to remain full of shit on this stuff.

And everybody knows it - probably including you.

Northam apologized. He admitted having worn blackface. I suspect he will still end up stepping down, as Al Franken did.

But your party? You have pedophiles who stay in office and who are supported by your party. Racists aplenty, reelected and embraced. Among other things. So full of bullshit - you and them.

Or, as I say, "lie, deny, and obfuscate." That's you.

And this is the moderate take on you.

The GOP, hard at work:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/a-gop-lawmaker-wants-to-repeal-child-labor-laws-in-his-state-he-employs-hundreds-of-minors/ar-BBSWPtC

Indiana Sen. Chip Perfect proposed repealing child labor laws in his state. He just happens, coincidentally I am sure, to employ hundreds of minors.

Quote
Perfect told the Indianapolis Star that his ski resort employs as many as 400 minors. Because his bill would scrap limits on the hours that minors can work, it would allow businesses such as his to have minors working as late as midnight without their parents' consent. Perfect North Slope is open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

The bill would also scrap work permit requirements — regulations that those who favor the legislation saw as antiquated. Matt Eckert, chief executive of Holiday World, has testified that work permits only create an administrative burden, the Star reported. Under current laws, minors have to have permits, signed by their parents or guardians, before they can work.

I don't care that his fellow legislators determined it was not a conflict of interest.

It is an unconscionable proposal that should not be passed and it is self-serving on his part.

Teen suicide rates are higher in states with greater gun ownership.

Yes, causal.

I didn't say Northam wasn't a cooked goose.  Just as I felt I couldn't trust Kavanaugh on scotus, I understand people not trusting Northam now.  Medical school is pretty late to still be that clueless.  Regardless of D or R next to a ballot name.

Nice jobs report.
304,000 new ones.  ( Economists predicted 170,000)
Average hourly wages grew 3.2% from a year earlier. Wages are growing at the best rate since the recession ended in 2009 .

I wonder how many jobs were created by furloughed feds getting gigs with Uber and Lyft?*

*channeling RSW response to any good economic reports during Obama Administration.

So it took Trump one extra month to (almost) match the job creation numbers of Obama’s last two years.  And all it cost was $1.5 Trillion!

This last jobs report is great, and is the first sign of a real acceleration in the economy, as opposed to the steady increases we’ve seen over the last 5 or 6 years.  No idea what effect the Trump Shutdown had on these numbers (besides in increase in the unemployment rate) but as I don’t expect the growth effects to show up until next month (and yes, they will show up)  I wouldn’t have expected its adverse effects to be reflected in the January employment figures.

And as I’ve said before, wage growth only now tracking with employment, but still another good sign.

yayyyyyyyyyy o-ba-maaaaaaa....

But every one from Nancy Pelosi on down has.  Bully for you if you think he got screwed by the Bully PCers.  But remember Northam was not shy about using the race card against his opponent .

Kavanaugh was in HIGH SCHOOL and his accuser proved to be a liar.  Northam was not accused of anything.  But a picture was published and, almost immediately, he apologized. Now he says the pic was not of him and the usage of it on his yearbook page could have been in error.
I don't think Northam is a racist nor was he ever whatever the truth is about the picture.
But the party who has screamed racism or worse at any flimsy evidence now is caught with a lot of toothpaste to be put back in the tube.

Or you throw them out by having the leaders of their own party pressure them to resign .

But you can only do that if the leaders actually want them gone.

Yours don't. Neither do too many of your party - like you.
