Hail to the Chief - President Donald J. Trump

Hail to the Chief we have chosen for the nation,
Hail to the Chief! We salute him, one and all.
Hail to the Chief, as we pledge cooperation
In proud fulfillment of a great, noble call.

Yours is the aim to make this grand country grander,
This you will do, that is our strong, firm belief.
Hail to the one we selected as commander,
Hail to the President! Hail to the Chief!

#####

President Donald J Trump, democratically elected by the People under exactly the same system as Obama was.
'Make America great/grander again'.  [some people believe it had slipped and was not as great/grand as it once was.]

When mrs bambu was in Japan last year, staying in the homes of real live Japanese families in different parts of Japan....they, young and old, told her that they "love Mr Trump" as "he is the only one who stands between us and the madman over there".

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2_-EeI-kHQ

It's Germany. lol
Hardly Conservatives.
Trump should make them pay their way in NATO/for their own defence. America should not be paying for everything, Trump is correct.

Also depends to whom Mr Pence was speaking.

The original lyrics, written by Sir Walter Scott, read:

Hail to the chief, who in triumph advances,
Honour'd and blest be the evergreen pine!
Long may the tree in his banner that glances,
Flourish the shelter and grace of our line.
Heaven send it happy dew,
Earth lend it sap anew,
Gaily to bourgeon and broadly to grow;
While every highland glen,
Sends our shout back agen,
"Roderigh Vich Alpine Dhu, ho! i-e-roe!"

Ours is no sapling, chance-sown by the fountain,
Blooming at Beltane, in winter to fade;
When the whirlwind has stript every leaf on the mountain,
The more shall Clan Alpine exult in her shade.
Moor'd in the lifted rock,
Proof to the tempest's shock,
Firmer he roots him, the ruder it blow:
Menteith and Breadalbane, then,
Echo his praise agen,
"Roderigh Vich Alpine Dhu, ho! i-e-roe!"

Proudly our pibroch has thrill'd in Glen Fruin,
And Blanochar's groans to our slogan replied,
Glen Luss and Ross Dhu, they are smoking in ruin,
And the best of Loch Lomond lie dead on our side.
Widow and Saxon maid,
Long shall lament our raid,
Think of Clan Alpine with fear and with woe.
Lenox and Levon Glen,
Shake when they hear agen
"Roderigh Vich Alpine Dhu, ho! i-e-roe!"

Row, vassals, row for the pride of the Highlands!
Stretch to your oars for the evergreen pine!
O, that the rosebud that graces yon islands,
Were wreath'd in a garland around him to twine.
O, that some seedling gem,
Worthy such noble stem,
Honour'd and blest in their shadow might grow;
Loud should Clan Alpine then,
Ring from her deepmost glen,
"Roderigh Vich Alpine Dhu, ho! i-e-roe!"

The ex-military, ex-Coast Guard guy wanting to kill everybody.

Perfect case for having all gun/weapon purchases recorded and watched by the govt.
Every purchaser identified.

A forge-proof national ID card issued to every citizen.
Non-citizens having a separate card.

A national "If you see something, say something" Terrorism Hotline.

https://www.latimes.com/opinion/op-ed/la-oe-maki-japanese-internment-20190220-story.html

Why do some American leaders keep trying to defend the Japanese internment?

Because some Japanese in Hawaii were spying for Japan and relaying messages to assist with the attack on Pearl Harbour, where Americans were slaughtered!
Because America was at war with Japan, and to make certain Japanese people in America were not Japan-sympathisers/could not be spies, they had to be put in camps/taken out of circulation.
It was 1939/41/43/45.
People were jumping at shadows.

Internment camps...like Gitmo...self-preservation... "take them out of circulation until the war is over."

Wanna blame someone, blame Imperial Japan of the day.
Blame the Japanese of the day committing all the atrocities.

All the news of the day - NC Republican election fraud, upcoming Mueller report, Andrew McCabe's latest interview, hostility from Europe towards 45 -- does seem to have increased the squirrel population.

Watching Red field direct questions kind of reminds me of watching a cat with scotch tape on its feet.

Kamala Harris finally came forward with a statement on L'affaire Jussie.

Following the alleged ' attack" she had said:

".@JussieSmollett is one of the kindest, most gentle human beings I know. I’m praying for his quick recovery. This was an attempted modern day lynching. No one should have to fear for their life because of their sexuality or color of their skin. We must confront this hate."

Today after the Chicago Head of Police blasted Smollett for a hoax and the actor was indicted on felony charges for a false police report Senator Harris said.(via Facebook)

"Like most of you, I've seen the reports about Jussie Smollett, and I'm sad, frustrated, and disappointed,"

(At least 20 murders and 134 sexual assaults were reported in Chicago during the 23-day period the Chicago Police Department devoted extraordinary manpower to the Smollett hoax)
Senator Harris agreed with the Chicago Head of Police Eddy Johnson who said the real victims of Smollett's act were the victims of real crimes:

"When anyone makes false claims to police, it not only diverts resources away from serious investigations but it makes it more difficult for other victims of crime to come forward.

Racist?    Japanese blew up Pearl Harbour, slaughtered Americans. US govt put Japanese Americans in internment camps as a result. Fact.

Anti-American?  Where on earth did you get that from?

The vast majority of those interned were American.

Japanese-Americans.

My German-speaking ancestors in a rural town had to report to the cops all the time and were being watched.
They weren't the only ones.
They were Australian, German-Australian if you like.
It was a world war...they were born here, with their original ancestors from the land of the bad guys 100 years before.

Can't be too careful in wartime.
Wouldn't have wanted any Germany-sympathisers sending coded messages/maps etc to Japan via Germany, my guess.
It was 1939/45.
Population of Australia in 1939 … 6,967,754...no real need for internment camps.
Population of the USA in 1939...  130.9 million ...need for internment camps, to keep any possible Japan-sympathisers from spying etc.
It wouldn't happen today...but back then they were new at being massacred on their own shores.
