President Donald Trump says airplanes are 'becoming far too complex to fly'

President Donald Trump weighed in Tuesday on the crashes of a new Boeing jet model by claiming that "airplanes are becoming far too complex to fly" and may be too susceptible to crashes.

In a tweet two days after the crash of an Ethiopian Airlines jet made by Boeing, the second such accident in five months, Trump tweeted that "pilots are no longer needed, but rather computer scientists from MIT," and manufacturers are "always seeking to go one unnecessary step further, when often old and simpler is far better."

#####

Exactly, Mr President.
Not too old though, they used to crash too.

People are asking why Boeing didn't fix the software after the first crash.

QANTAS has never lost a passenger.
Maybe copy what QANTAS is doing.
It doesn't have any of the new Boeing 737 Max 8  planes. Wonder why?
Virgin Australia has ordered 30 of them...remains to be seen what happens with that order.

Qantas Airways is the flag carrier of Australia and its largest airline by fleet size, international flights and international destinations.
It is the third oldest airline in the world, after KLM and Avianca having been founded in November 1920; it began international passenger flights in May 1935. The Qantas name comes from "QANTAS", an acronym for its original name, "Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services", and it is nicknamed "The Flying Kangaroo". Qantas is a founding member of the Oneworld airline alliance.

Not shocking at all.  Quite common, in fact.  Which was the point.

Funny how conservatives are never bothered by the wealthy getting advantages over the rest of us (see above, corporate welfare, lower tax rates, etc)  but if someone who has almost nothing gets an opportunity they wouldn’t otherwise get?  Whoo boy.  Whole movements are started within Conservatism to prevent that from happening.

May governs as effectively as Individual 1.

Send them to Elba together to live out their sentences.

If you're talking about Theresa May...she's trying to have Britain leave the EU with the least disruption possible.
Now, she should just take Britain out of the EU with no deal and let The People suffer the consequences.

You don't have Kushner's or Trump's advantage: daddy looked after them.

When thinking about how the access that the wealthy have to paths to cheating their kids into elite colleges can only add to the lack of upward mobility of the middle-class and poor and the dissolution of our meritocracy remember that there are perfectly legal ways of doing this very same thing.

Jared Kushner's dad got his son, who was a mediocre student, into Harvard with a $2.5 million donation to the school in 1998.

So, daddy gets you into a top university by whatever means...but if you're a mediocre student how do you pass the exams and graduate?

I think you aren’t thinking straight. The Univerities grant both. Make $ billions off the rich AND Uncle Sam. In return the bulk of students/Alums are paying off student loan debt into their 40’s and 50’s( or default and dump it on the rest of us)thanks to Obama.

Think the skull and bones men looked after me [to a certain degree].
Father and the bank manager at which bank branch I was appointed to first, attended meetings at the same place.
Maybe appointed there by chance, maybe by design so young 'know nothing, school failure' bambu could be shielded from the big bad world of workplaces.
Always helps if daddy is a good buddy of your boss, eh?
It was 1965.
Things were different back then. Married women couldn't work, for one thing.
Bank girls got married, "bye bye, have a nice life raising children".
But, the system was such that a man could work in a career job his whole life, buy a home, car, and support a family on his salary alone.

LOL. Obama is the reason people who went to college 20 years ago are still paying off their student loans...

More likely both of you. Obama federalized Student Loans. To the detriment of everyone.

Quote
Some British lawmakers had warned their Brexit-backing colleagues that rejecting the deal could lead to Britain’s departure being postponed indefinitely, because a delay would give momentum to opponents of withdrawal.

“Today is our Hotel California moment. If we don’t check out tonight, we may never leave,” tweeted Conservative legislator Bob Seely.

Conservatives always have trouble following rock lyrics.  Heh.

I was glad to hear Obama was President in 1999, btw.  Red teaches us so much!
