Trouble for Trump-Washington re Brexit is that Prime Minister Theresa May won't be bullied by anyone, not even cabinet ministers of her own party.
11 of her cabinet ministers reportedly told her to resign in favour of one of them, or they would all resign.
She must've told them words to the effect of "Go right ahead and resign, because I'm not", because now they're all pledging support for her and none of them resigned.

Also, it is alleged that many in the parliament are "remainers" and not "exiters" although representing majorities of constituents who voted to leave the EU.
EU is making it as difficult as possible for Britain to leave, fearing if it does that others will follow.

Now 'Nexit' is gathering momentum in the Netherlands.

Jihadist groups linked to Al Qaeda and Islamic State have exploited ethnic rivalries in Mali and neighbouring Burkina Faso and Niger in recent years to boost recruitment and render vast swathes of territory virtually ungovernable.

I think that unification is best for Europe, you cannot go to war against each other if you are all united. England and France fought for one hundred years.

And we know of the many other wars.

The best path for peace is for England to remain in the European Union.

And hey Josh, perhaps you can make a thread for Oceania in the "International" section if you want, for Bambu to discuss Australia, and for people to discuss New Zealand, etc. It is just an idea. Thanks for the great work that you do on here.

The European Union is a great organization, and it promotes peace between its members. We want England to be at peace with Europe, and the E.U. promotes that.

Salute,

Why the name change, Bambu?  If you're going to post the same old same old, what's the point of a new sock?

I did what I was told, post in International [Asia and Western Europe].

'bambu-wisdom' was causing anger here [humour seems to be lacking] .
New name, new pw, new email address...start over.
All good in my book.

However, Brexit is fair game in this actual forum...as Donald Trump Jnr and Mr Bolton recently bought a ticket to ride the Brexit express.
Donald Trump Jnr mentioned the words of Donald Trump Snr.

Would you like an Americas Union [AU]?
With USA being 'ruled' from Canada? or Brazil?

One of the tasks of the European Commission is to ensure that Member States obey EU rules and it can bring states before the European Court of Justice if it believes that the rules are being broken. Over the last 5 years, 10 cases have been brought against the UK.

The oldest international organization that the USA has joined is the Organization of American States...

http://www.oas.org/en/member_states/default.asp

Then there is the United Nations, which we all belong to, but the U.N. has not met up to expectations, we had Eleanor Roosevelt who wanted to improve human rights for all of God's children, with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights at the United Nations, but she was dealing with guys like Stalin, so she did not get far.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Declaration_of_Human_Rights

And I knew it was you Bambu!

We as a planet have come a long way in regard to human rights, and women's rights, and on civil rights here in the USA, we have made progress, but there is still a long way to go.

Another issue is the many homeless people in the Middle East, from Syria, and from other places. UNICEF is feeding the homeless children, and there are camps for the homeless people, etc, and they have  classes for the children, etc. We must create peace in the Middle East so that the people can stay in their homes, they need to feel safe in their own homes, and there must be education and jobs right there in their home areas. We have a chance to really improve human rights, and women's rights, in the Middle East, in Iraq, Afghanistan, and in Syria, Egypt, and in Libya, etc. We have the chance to create the foundation for a more peaceful future with that part of the world.

And yes, Bambu, the USA rejects any idea of an international court. The USA would never allow ourselves to go before an international court, and we would reject any punishment.

Salute,

Tony V.

I would've said it eventually but I though everyone would know anyway.
No degree from Harvard needed.

Many Brits want to totally govern themselves...be in charge of their own courts/laws, immigration and border policies, 100%.
Many don't, and want to stay in the EU.
At the Brexit referendum a majority voted to leave the EU.

If Britain leaves without a deal...there'll be utter chaos.
Theresa May is trying to tell them that...that the deal she's negotiated is the best way to go.
Her opponents are saying they want to rule themselves 100%.

The border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland UK is one sticking point.
Ireland still in the EU, but Northern Ireland out.

Arafura,

The simple solution on the issue of Ireland is to allow for a united Ireland.

But if the British remain in the E.U. then it does not seem to be much of an issue, because they are all on the same team.

I think the people of Europe just want peace.

Speaking for myself, I would rather see peace and prosperity for everyone. (There are also the issues of the Malvinas Islands, and Gibraltar. But, it must all be worked out peacefully.)

Salute,

Tony V.

Asshat or arafura or whatever you are calling yourself today,

Many Brittons, like many Americans who voted republican and most Australians, like yourself, were conned by scumbags for several decades and are now mentally defective and quite dangerous which is the only reason Brexit or Trump or your current government got any votes.

No Brexit is the right and popular choice for The UK. Exporting the entire upper echelon of the GOP to Cuba is the right and popular choice in the USA. Climate change and inate Australian stupidity will take care of your whole subcontinent.

To dust you shall return.

Norway will ban the sale of petrol- and diesel-powered cars by 2025;
the Netherlands will do the same by 2030.

In July 2017 French Environment Minister Nicolas Hulot announced a plan to ban all petrol and diesel vehicles in France by 2040 as part of the Paris Agreement.

#####

No petrol or diesel vehicles in USA by 2025, 2030 or 2040?

Norway;
Norway has a total area of 385,252 square kilometres (148,747 sq mi) and a population of 5,312,300 (as of August 2018). The country shares a long eastern border with Sweden (1,619 km or 1,006 mi long).

USA;
9.834 million km²

Australia;
7.692 million km²

Western European countries are the size of a postage stamp in comparison.

Where is there not peace in Europe?
British govt says that when the British people of Northern Ireland want one Ireland they can have it.  Same as with the British Falkland Islands and Argentina.

Texas and/or California were once part of Mexico?
What if Mexico were to demand a united Mexico...no border between California, Texas and Mexico...one republic?
Texans would likely say "We're American Texans, not Mexican Texans".

More important we get it right then. I’m hoping to keep my puppies on the road by mostly HHO systems once we get a little further along with the safety parameters. This should happen sometime in Mayor Pete’s administration, say 2022.
