Conservatives here:  Imagine for a moment what it would be like if Republicans got into office the classic way - by developing vision and implementing it with policies that would actually make most voters want to vote for them.  Instead of just pandering to a donor base and figuring out ways to keep other people from voting at all - or making sure their votes don't count.
Interesting take except for the fact that pandering to the base was exactly what the Hillary campaign was all about.
As a result she lost 99 electoral votes that were won by Obama, many of those votes in states she hardly campaigned in.

Focus.
I did.
Especially on the comment that Imagine for a moment what it would be like if Republicans got into office the classic way - by developing vision and implementing it with policies that would actually make most voters want to vote for them.
Trump flipped 6 states from 2012 and won in areas Hillary largely ignored especially those containing blue collar workers
who were impressed by GOP promises that have put people back to work, increased wages and
bolstered the economy.

Couldn't be more wrong.  Ignoring for a second that Trump's campaign was centered around an anti-immigration agenda, not an economic one, Trump ran as a "populist," a different kind of Republican.  He was amenable to raising taxes on the rich, promised not to touch Medicare and Social Security, and said that he would implement a health insurance plan that insured "everyone."

Of course as President, he did the exact opposite on every point.
LOL

Trump's election bolsters Oilboyd's point, doesn't dispute it.  Trump is a con man, and conned voters by lying to them (about the above issues, and others.)
[/quote]Glad you can finally admit that. Though it is odd you find it funny.

Why can't Republicans win elections without lying about their policy plans, and the intentions of those plans?   The question stands.  With Trump as Exhibit A (as opposed to Individual 1)

Again, REDSTATEWARD has no substantive response.

Exhibit B, by the way, are the mid-term elections.  Republicans lied about their being for protections for people with preexisting conditions, some of them straight up lied about their vote on Obamacare.

And Trump, a week before the elections, started talking about a middle class tax cut at his rallies, and even raised the possibility of raising taxes on the wealthy in order to pay for it:

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-11-07/trump-says-he-s-open-to-raising-tax-to-pay-for-middle-class-cut

All lies.  That middle class tax cut went the way of the $1 trillion infrastructure plan (itself yet another promise that fooled blue collar voters) up in smoke once the election was over.

Why do Republicans need to lie to (try to) get elected?

Last week Trump said he thinks the complete report should be seen by the public.  Haven't heard him say that again since its release.  Why not?
News Item, Monday March 25(various sources)

Trump Supports Report’s Full Release

The White House said President Trump supports the public release of special counsel Robert Mueller’s full report and regards it as a “total exoneration,” while Democrats contested that interpretation and called for the swift release of the report and its underlying documents.

Great!  And we all have no reason not to trust that Trump is saying the same thing behind the scenes, so we should all look forward to seeing the full report.

See?...maybe not.

I do not fancy having my face used as an 'Islamic State sketch pad'....my head cut off, or being gunned down in the street.

http://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/i-will-personally-execute-you-isis-carvers-letter-to-prison-boss/ar-BBVbqTt?li=AAgfYrC&OCID=AVRES000

The now 21-year-old Sydney man faced a sentencing hearing before the NSW Supreme Court on Monday over a series of offences, including discussing plans in October 2015 to shoot police on the steps of Bankstown police station on or about Anzac Day 2016 and to film the attack.
Bourhan Hraichie also threatened to kill NSW Corrective Services Commissioner Peter Severin in public by cutting off his head.

While Hraichie was in jail for stealing and break-and-enter offences in April 2016, prison staff confiscated a handwritten document titled "The Book of Jihad" and other written material supporting the planned terror attack, which he later called off because his associates planned to travel to fight in the Middle East instead.

Justice Peter Johnson suppressed the release of the jihadist material, and the recording and transcript of Hraichie's September 2016 interview with the Australian Federal Police, which are now court exhibits, over fears they could be used to inspire not only attacks by Islamic extremists but also members of the far right following the Christchurch massacre.

On April 7, 2016, Hraichie was made to share a cell with Michael Sean O'Keefe. After learning O'Keefe was a former soldier in the Australian army, Hraichie used a razor blade to carve "e4e", short for the Islamic State mantra "an eye for an eye", into O'Keefe's forehead.

"I turned your Army [sic] soldier into an Islamic State sketch pad," part of the letter said.

During his September 2016 police interview, Hraichie also praised the schoolboy killer of NSW Police accountant Curtis Cheng as a "little lion" for the "fear he put into the hearts of Australia".

#####

Which he did.
Fear there certainly is...as we are unarmed and sitting ducks.
Americans are so lucky they can carry guns. Self-confident they can be.

I wouldn't bet on that since parts of the report can't be released due to Grand Jury secrecy and other Justice Department rules.
But we all should be grateful that after two years plus of investigations( 3 now in all) we have confirmed no American conspired with the Russians to influence the 2016 election.

It's never-ending;

http://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/love-thy-neighbour-disgraced-cardinal-george-pells-cellmates-revealed-to-be-the-notorious-bourke-street-mass-murderer-and-brothers-accused-of-plotting-a-terrorist-attack/ar-BBVcAhQ?li=AAgfYrC&OCID=AVRES000

The duo are accused of plotting a mass terror attack in Melbourne, along with their alleged accomplice, 21-year-old Hanifi Halis.

They were arrested in November 2018 after they allegedly tried to buy a black market semi-automatic rifle.

We can confirm no such thing.  The Mueller Report stated, as quoted by Barr, that it "did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities."

Failing to establish does not equate to a confirmation, one way or the other.

But we can all be thankful that Trump will do his best to release the report, so that we can all see what evidence or lack thereof existed either way.

The bottom line is trump was either too dumb to know or too crooked to admit he was conspiring with the Russian government. Since DOJ rules prohibit indictment of the office holder, Mueller left the interview to determine whether Individual 1 is more dumb or evil to congress.

Well, since prosecutors generally do not concern themselves with innocence so much as what the evidence shows, your statement is incorrect. What Barr stated in his summary is that "the investigation did not.establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government". I'd like.to see the whole report before.going any further. Plenty of room between "no one conspired" and "we could not establish" a conspiracy.

Pleased to note the Repos feel declining to prosecute is an exoneration. Hilary will be pleased. Has anyone told.Graham about this?

This is the End of the Beginning... Now all of the scandals (and it’s a target rich environment) goes to Congress where there’s been no oversight before January.

Meanwhile, anyone seen Rick Gates?

Michael Cohen is still talking with the Southern District of NY.

Drink the bubbly and high five in the White House but now your boy is campaigning to run out the clock... that ain’t gonna be a wining message outside the hardcore ride or die assholes who see him as a messianic figure.
