Washington (CNN)Special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into possible obstruction of justice could not clear President Donald Trump, stating the President's actions and intent "presents difficult issues that prevent us from conclusively determining that no criminal conduct occurred," according to a redacted version of the special counsel's report released Thursday.
The special counsel's investigation into possible collusion found that members of the Trump campaign knew they would benefit from Russia's illegal actions to influence the election, but didn't take criminal steps to help, the Mueller report said.

Special counsel Robert Mueller described a previously unknown example of the President’s attempts to curtail the investigation involving Trump’s former campaign aide Cory Lewandowski.

Mueller says that on June 19, 2017, Trump met in the Oval Office with Lewandowski and dictated a message intended for then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who at that point had recused himself from matters involving the probe.

In the message, Sessions was told to publicly announce the investigation was “‘very unfair’ to the President, the President had done nothing wrong, and Sessions planned to meet with the special counsel and ‘let [him] move forward with investigation election meddling for future elections.’” Lewandowski told Trump he understood his instructions.

A month later, Trump checked back in with Lewandowski on the status of his message. Lewandowski said the message would be delivered soon.

Ultimately, Lewandowski declined to deliver the message personally, instead asking a senior White House official — Rick Dearborn — to do it instead. Mueller’s report says Dearborn was “uncomfortable with the task and did not follow through.”

This seems to be point to both intent and a remarkable level of incompetence, which partisans can spin as some kind of saving grace.  But it really isn't.  It is corrupt behavior.

On May 17, 2017, the Acting Attorney General for the Russia investigation appointed a special counsel to conduct the investigation and related matters. The president reacted to news that a special counsel had been appointed by telling advisors that it was ‘the end of his presidency’ and demanding that Sessions resign. Sessions submitted his resignation, but the president ultimately did not accept it. The president told aides that the special counsel had conflicts of interest and suggested that the special counsel therefore could not serve. The president’s advisors told him the asserted conflicts were meritless and had already been considered by the department of justice.

- from the M report

Corrupt.  Intent rears its head until aides rush in and moosh it back down.

Barr's spin and the actual report really don't match up at all....here's a good summary:

Quote
Among the 10 episodes of conduct by Trump that Mueller investigated as potential obstructions of justice were:

    Trump’s efforts to fire Mueller.

Trump’s firing of former FBI director James Comey.

Trump’s efforts to hijack oversight of the Mueller investigation.

Trump’s order to the White House counsel, Donald McGahn, to deny that Trump had tried to fire Mueller.

Trump’s conduct with regard to associates who have pleaded guilty to crimes including Michael Flynn, Paul Manafort and Michael Cohen.

Trump’s “repeated efforts to get McGahn to create a record denying that the President had directed him to remove the special counsel” are held up for special scrutiny in the report. Trump told McGahn twice to order the deputy attorney general, Rod Rosenstein, to fire Mueller, McGahn told Mueller.

“McGahn recalled the president telling him ‘Mueller has to go” and ‘Call me back when you do it’,” the report says.

“If we had confidence after a thorough investigation of the facts that the President clearly did not commit obstruction of justice, we would so state,” the report continues. “However, we are unable to reach that judgment.

“The President’s efforts to influence the investigation were mostly unsuccessful, but that is largely because the persons who surrounded the President declined to carry out orders or accede to his requests,” the report says.

While the Mueller report declines to recommend a prosecution by the justice department of the president, Mueller noted that Congress might do so.

“We concluded that Congress can validly make obstruction-of-justice statutes applicable to corruptly motivated official acts of the President without impermissibly undermining his Article II functions” laying out executive power, the report reads.

Barr has abandoned his role as head of the DOJ, who is supposed to lead an independent branch which is a check on the executive.  He is Trump's biggest champion and defender.  And now that the report is out for all to see, it's clear how far he as strayed from his duties.

Voters in Canada's Alberta Province tossed out its premier Rachel Motley whose ultra liberal party  had imposed a carbon tax.
That was not a shock in the oil capital of the country but the size of the defeat was, the conservatives wound up with  63 seats in the provincial government leaving the liberals with just 23.
The rallying cry against the carbon tax was " ECONOMIC PAIN WITH NO ENVIRONMENTAL GAIN!"
The scorecard for Carbon taxes at the voting booths is not very good.
Australian voters reload one.
France had to suspend increases in fuel taxes after protests
In Washington State voters twice have defeated calls for the tax
And Maine legislators called off a statewide vote that was certain to lose.

The climate chicken littles get a lot of headlines, but they have yet to convince many voters.

So Mueller found multiple instances of collusion, just not criminal conspiracy.  And the only reason there wasn't was that the intermediary that Flynn and Trump sought between them and the Russions in order to steal emails didn't have the access he claimed he had.

And, btw, Barr's letter lied.

Mueller report reinforces and confirms that Trump and his clan are liars and cheaters who welcomed Russia's interference in our election because they knew it was being undertaken to help them win.

Yet after Barr's "summary" the headlines were "No Collusion."

That was a huge failure on the part of the media to deal with this administration in a way that accounts for the fact that they can not be trusted.  As they have proven.  Repeatedly.

This is going to be a big question going forward re: Barr's conduct, and a good reason to bring Mueller before Congress:

You can see throughout this discussion that they were leaving it to the "constitutional processes for addressing presidential misconduct," i.e. Congress's exercise of its impeachment power. The discussion is *wholly inconsistent* w/ Barr making a prosecutorial decision for them.

The report reads yes on espionage conspiracy and yes on obstruction with the obstruction making the espionage conspiracy harder to prove.

Mueller states that the investigation was hampered by the fact that Trump Campaign and Administration officials deleted emails, or communicated using outside encrypted apps that didn't store date.

So...can the 2020 election now be all about Trump's Emails especially since, unlike with Clinton, we know that there was intent to hamper an active investigation?

Or will the media actually say nothing about this?

I think we know the answer...
