You took a metaphor literally. You either lack the capacity for abstract thought or are an intellectually dishonest tool deliberately being an ass for private amusement. Since these are not mutually exclusive alternatives,  I retain the possibility of your being both.
LOL

Translation of Ward's LOL = "I have no idea what you mean by 'took a metaphor literally,' but won't admit it."

Australia goes conservative
...
Must be the Russians? Everyone loves the illegal migrants.

I was thinking about this some more.

a) Did the new PM's team meet multiple times with the Russians?

b) Did the new PM, on national television, request the Russians' help?

c) Did the election result settle on 1% or less of the vote in 3 states?

d) Did Australia's intelligence and security agencies report that the Russians had tried to (and in some cases succeeded in) hack the election?

No? Then it was probably not the Russians.

But then there's this:
https://www.cnn.com/2019/05/19/opinions/austria-freedom-party-scandal-eu-election-andelman/index.html

So, maybe it was the Russians.

Migrant children have heartbeats too?
Of course they do.

Trouble is, ...not every child and adult in Mexico, Central America, Africa, South America, Middle East, North Asia, Sth Asia, SE Asia etc can be moved into USA to live.
It simply can't happen.
There have to be limits.
America takes in the number it can afford.
The rest?...it's a cruel, cruel world out there. People born on garbage dumps, live on garbage dumps their whole lives, fossick for food there, sleep there, maybe raise kids there as well.

The down and out, the homeless [imagine being homeless in the snow and then the dirty, icy slush full of cigarette butts and litter], poor who don't know where their next meal is coming from...in America have heartbeats too.

The United States government took children from legal asylum applicant, transported them, and intentionally did not track where they were taken or to whom they were given, to prevent their being returned to their families.

Which, if true, was totally the wrong thing to do.

Mythology

The mass of ordinary Germans did know about the evolving terror of Hitler's Holocaust, according to a new research study. They knew concentration camps were full of Jewish people who were stigmatised as sub-human and race-defilers. They knew that these, like other groups and minorities, were being killed out of hand.

They knew that Adolf Hitler had repeatedly forecast the extermination of every Jew on German soil. They knew these details because they had read about them. They knew because the camps and the measures which led up to them had been prominently and proudly reported step by step in thousands of officially-inspired German media articles and posters according to the study, which is due to be published simultaneously in Britain and the US early next month and which was described as ground-breaking by Oxford University Press yesterday and already hailed by other historians.

The reports, in newspapers and magazines all over the country were phases in a public process of "desensitisation" which worked all too well, culminating in the killing of 6m Jews, says Robert Gellately. His book, Backing Hitler, is based on the first systematic analysis by a historian of surviving German newspaper and magazine archives since 1933, the year Hitler became chancellor. The survey took hundreds of hours and yielded dozens of folders of photocopies, many of them from the 24 main newspapers and magazines of the period.

The number one cause of death in pregnant women is murder.
Is that unusual? Your citation was 2001...Has it changed in the intervening 18 years? I don't think so.
But so what?

Real estate developers like Mr. Trump and Mr. Kushner sometimes do large, all-cash deals, including with people outside the United States, any of which can prompt anti-money laundering reviews. The red flags raised by employees do not necessarily mean the transactions were improper.

Yes, it is unusual among the so-called Western countries.

No, it has not changed.

"so what?" asks an anti-abortion rights Republican who is not pro-life.

Part of the answer as abortions are outlawed, is to allow LGBT people to adopt children, many people cannot have children on their own and for many people adoption is an answer for them when it comes to having children.

Also, as Christians we are supposed to help the children, and the adults, we are supposed to help everyone.

------------

Psalm 82:3-4 New International Version (NIV)

3 Defend the weak and the fatherless;
uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.
4 Rescue the weak and the needy;
deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

---------------------

And in Orange County we have a group called CASA which helps the foster children. I want to do some fundraisers for CASA soon.

https://www.casaoc.org/

I have access to an amphitheater, with 2,000 seats, and an area to sell food and drinks to our guests, and it is at a nice park with a cool little duck pond. I can produce concerts at the amphitheater for charity. We all can work for free and all of the money can go to CASA to help children who do not have parents. Life is hard, and it is way harder if you do not have parents.

https://www.anaheim.net/1432/Pearson-Park-Amphitheatre

So, we need to allow the Gays to adopt, etc, and we need to help the orphans and the needy.

Salute,

Tony V.

Quite.

“...most notably, Kushner Companies reportedly sent money to Russian individuals. It is also known that some of the transactions involved the president’s now-defunct Trump Foundation, which was shut down during a lawsuit over what New York’s former attorney general called a “shocking pattern of illegality.”
