As has been pointed out by others, had a parent done this to their child they would be in jail.

Planning was quite bad - but sounds like they did as well as possible - and happy reunions in the end.

Headlines would have you believe kids were in a hot van for 37 hours and had no happy ending.

They were in the van because the vans were air conditioned. They were in air conditioned vans because there was no where for them to go for damn near two days. Because the responsible agencies created huge problems for them selves.

You’re defending a huge clusterfuck that happened because the administration banked on no one noticing there was no plan.

This Administration CREATED the “crisis” at the border. Immigration systems sucked before but damn! Don’t “what about Obama” this shit, either.

The cruelty is the point. They’re trying to see just how much evil shit good people will take.

The kids were IN the facility and LEFT because it was too cold inside.  Slept on the vans because - fuck - they are young and were getting tired.

Most were reunited much sooner than the reports would have you believe.

There was no planning for the reunification of the families. Ever spend time in foster care? Can you imagine the trauma we, as a nation, have inflicted on these children?

There was a plan.  ICE officials screwed the pooch.   Clearly a fuckup on a lazy human level.  And poorly communicated.  No, not of "how COULD they do this?" proportion.  Kids have gone through emotional hell but were (are) fine.

Yes, it was a tragedy.  We need to figure out how to alleviate it, without installing Bambi-ignorance at every doorway.

Airport-style security is the only way you'll stop it.
Guns get into the workplace, anyone can shoot anyone else anytime.
Workplaces, schools, places of worship, anywhere people are sitting ducks.

Mass shooting in Darwin yesterday...man with pump-action shotgun..."tattooed ex-con", 'links to outlaw motorcycle gangs', moved around the streets shooting up motels and shooting people dead in businesses.
4 men dead, one woman wounded.

Wouldn't have had a licence for that gun...only licences for farmers, professional pest eradicators etc.
