So we now know what it takes for a police officer to get significant jail time for shooting an unarmed civilian.

It's almost surreal how many social biases could potentially intersect there in Minneapolis.   He's black and named Mohamed and from an immigrant community, the vic is a white woman and...wait.... she's AUSTRALIAN??   Efffing dingo lovers, think they can just waltz across our borders and steal our yoga instructor jobs from natives??

Quote
The poll comes as several states have pushed to limit abortions in hopes of getting the Supreme Court to reconsider the issue. Abortion-rights opponents hope the newly conservative court will either overturn Roe or effectively gut it by upholding severe restrictions. The survey finds that while most Americans favor limiting abortion, they don't want it to be illegal and don't want to go as far as states like Alabama, for example, which would ban it completely except if the woman's life is endangered or health is at risk.

A total of 77% say the Supreme Court should uphold Roe, but within that there's a lot of nuance — 26% say they would like to see it remain in place, but with more restrictions added; 21% want to see Roe expanded to establish the right to abortion under any circumstance; 16% want to keep it the way it is; and 14% want to see some of the restrictions allowed under Roe reduced. Just 13% overall say it should be overturned.

13% - a figure to keep in mind when Scotus starts looking at some of these extreme state laws.

You are the missing link. Forehead ridge and scabs on your knuckles are a dead give away, also your penchant for swallowing and regurgitating bullshit.

A group of 17 leading automakers from around the world wrote to President Donald Trump on Thursday asking him to abandon his plans to scrap the emissions standards. Instead, it wants the administration to restart talks on a compromise with a group of 13 states — led by California — that are committed to tougher standards.

The automakers had initially supported the tougher standards, which were first announced in 2011, but the companies raised questions before President Barack Obama left office. The central issue is: Are the rules still practical given relatively low gasoline prices and car buyers' preference for SUVs? Despite the industry objections at that time, the Obama administration confirmed the standards just before leaving office.

Another day, another lie told by the Trump administration to get what it wants. In this case, a fake emergency declaration to allow him to sell weapons to Saudi Arabia:

Ain’t a Democrat in the race a climate change denier.

Any climate change question can be answered by saying the GOP doesn’t believe in climate change and they control the Senate and the White House. Don’t make the Democrats pull knives on each other. The cream will rise without the purity tests.

Which, of course, has no bearing on what SCOTUS looks at. Nor should it.

...two major factors have fueled the increasing numbers: 1) A growing awareness in Central America that immigrant families who make it to the U.S. aren't being detained in large numbers -- or deported and 2) A major push from smugglers in the region to offer more options to would-be migrants.

REJECTED:
How the Provisional Ballot System in Franklin County, Ohio Fails Voters
LOL
Franklin County(Columbus) is managed by democrats and gave Hillary Clinton 60% of the 2016 presidential vote, topped only by Cuyahoga County(Cleveland) with 65% of the vote.
Hmmm
In a state that is bright red( Trump won 18 electoral votes with 52% of the vote) it is pretty obvious that provisional ballots in Columbus were not a fatal problem for the democrats.
RUSSIA!
Oh, sorry.

.........................the law must apply with equal force to police officers of every color and origin. Similarly, the way in which jurors evaluate these tragic police shootings should never turn on the color of a victim's hair or skin. Instead, the critical inquiry must continue to be whether the officer reasonably perceived a legitimate threat to his or her life. And that must always be a color-blind assessment.

Each case is different - in ways other than skin color.
