It's probably just as well that Jared has no plans to actually negotiate with the Palestinians and doesn't care if they trust him.

You’d have to be dumb enough to buy 666 5th Avenue to trust a guy like Jared. There aren’t that many in his league.

I've been talking about our having a problem with the police.

I've been talking about racism up and down the criminal justice system.

My reaction to the repeated "so, you want open borders!" bs from our more conservative members, who have other similarly specious responses:

.........................the law must apply with equal force to police officers of every color and origin. Similarly, the way in which jurors evaluate these tragic police shootings should never turn on the color of a victim's hair or skin. Instead, the critical inquiry must continue to be whether the officer reasonably perceived a legitimate threat to his or her life. And that must always be a color-blind assessment.

Each case is different - in ways other than skin color.

"Let's keep pretending that there are not a ton of racist police and prosecutors and judges."

Is that what happened here?

With the conviction? Probably - had everybody's races been reversed, the police officer would likely have been found innocent, as the overwhelming majority of police are in similar situations.

A lot of black women being shot by cops these days?

A lot of black women being shot by cops these days?

Mostly, they are being killed while in jail.

But there are black women being shot by police, yes. More than white women being killed by black police.

Kiid doesn’t do work. As an old white republican he’s fully dependent on handouts, mostly from the government he hates.

Once the impeachment begins, it will be very important not to forward charges to the senate until the legislative primary season is over. It will put the sitting republicans in the senate in a Petri dish with a sub 30% trump and an eye on the general election audience and strong feelings for saving their own asses. This will create a better venue in which to proceed.

More than 57 percent of African American women [in fatal encounters with police] were killed while unarmed; white males were the least likely to have been unarmed when killed at just under 20 percent.

Not sure how much clearer the problem could be.  Almost triple the rate.  We need to keep asking our city officials why our sworn protectors and public servants are using deadly force on unarmed citizens.

As the prosecutor in the Noor case put it, "What is threatening about blonde hair and a pink sweatshirt?" Dark hair and a hoodie, on the other hand....

Should we start on "why are cops taught to aim for center mass of the body"?

So much that you do not know or are not divulging re:  police work in general
