15,000 Americans died between 2014 and 2017 due to states deciding not to participate in a Medicaid Expansion that would have been largely paid for by the ACA:

https://www.nber.org/papers/w26081

Think about this next time someone tries to sell you on the idea that those "Radical Socialist Liberals" are "Dangerous" for Americans.  We have right now a radical right-wing party that would put the lives of tens of millions of Americans in danger just to make a political point.

And key here:  They would have thrown another 15 million Americans off of their health insurance just to spite Obama, if not for the courageous vote of John McCain.

If that isn't "Radical" and "Dangerous" what the hell is?

Higher taxes on corporations to pay for free state college tuition?  hmm...

Trump pushed the crowd to their frenzy of "send her back."

Then Trump denied it, insisting he tried to cut it off by speedily resuming his speech, though the video proved he lied (and the line was on his teleprompter).

Now? Now he says those chanters are patriots:

Trump is trying to shake down California.

Some of the federal employees who work at LAX helping passengers who are returning from international flights are being sent to the Southern Border. So, it will take longer for returning passengers to get through customs, etc.

Also, some federal money that was supposed to go towards helping the homeless in Los Angeles is being withheld.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/us-housing-officials-withhold-2480-million-from-los-angeles-alleging-discrimination/ar-AAECBF5

Those are just a couple things that the federal government is doing in order to kick sand on California.

Rubio is going along with Trump, and he is bringing all kinds of federal money to Florida, plus there is Mar a Lago, so Trump keeps the pork flowing for Florida.

But, California is going against everything that Trump is trying to do. So, the federal government is looking for ways to withhold from California, and to punish California, and to get California to fall in line.

It would be nice if our federal government was on our side, instead of being against us.

Oh, and also Trump withheld money that was supposed to go for our high speed train, and he wants us to pay the money back.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/02/19/us/trump-cancels-california-high-speed-rail-grant.html

It is hard enough, because we have lost over 500,000 jobs to China alone, but now we have our own damn government working against us.

Trump is not winning any friends in California.

And we need to do the right thing, even if it makes life harder on us.

It is a shame that it has to be this way, we should be working together as a team against mutual enemies, etc. And California is a part of the USA, it is still our country too.

When I was a kid in Oregon the bullies used to beat me up because I was from California, they hate Californians in Oregon, and so I had to get tough and I fought back, and when I could kick everyone's ass then they stopped trying to bully me. And my own Grandfather from Oregon hated Californians, they are against Californians. So we have that going on, and now it is just getting worse having to go against Trump.

But, California is strong enough to be able to help stand up against Trump, so we need to do the right thing, even if it makes life harder on us.

Salute,

Tony V.

Fortunately California isn’t alone in doing the right things in the face of this terrible bully fake president.

If you're in Nonantum, in Newton, try the Italian cuisine.

I was a callow 13 when we left, so I had no base hits, though a lovely Armenian girl named Linda Yasighian had me taking a few practice swings at home.

Other names that popped into memory - Brian or Thomas Vallely, Francis Colantonio, Steve Bronk, Vard Zerounian, and great math teacher Mr Siciliano.   Oh, and Ray Lavin.   I didn't know a Needle family, per an earlier query.

If I were Mueller, I would enlarge my security detail for a few days.

I knew Tommy Vallelly, he was a year a head of me in school, and was a very funny popular guy. Google him and "Vietnam".  Interesting story.

The fact that Kid hasn't read the Mueller report, or apparently absorbed its implications, is precisely why Congress holds hearings of the kind starting Wednesday.

Thanks for helping clarify this, KC!

This has been going on for 3 years! Remember Ken Starr and Clinton?

---Only 3 percent of Americans have read all of the Mueller report and only 10 percent have read some of it, according to a CNN poll released in May.---

Boring, since an opinion was already rendered. No sex even.

The opinion rendered was bully-brat is guilty as fuck, lying about it, and using his platform to commit further crimes and outrages.

Witness tampering around his sex crimes hasn’t really been explored yet, but may wind up being its own book in the articles of impeachment. Maybe that will catch the attention of the more brain stem driven section of the electorate.

Sleep tight Kid. We’ll wake you next December and tell you how it all went down.

That way any brown shirts who get curb stomped won’t be you.

http://www.vox.com/the-highlight/2019/7/13/20690266/seattle-minimum-wage-15-dollars

"What all sides would agree on is that the people advocating for a higher minimum wage — those among the already employed like Caroline Durocher who went on strike six years ago — were right to do so."

I doubt it. Ward, for example, would insist that the research is wrong, the model flawed, or there was some other problem that made this invalid or unuseful or something.

More than half of Americans polled say they approve of the job Trump is doing with the economy, according to WaPo.

Also, more than half say they will not vote for Trump.

One of the key rights separating the free from the enslaved. Trump is funneling money from the public treasury into private hands by keeping people illegally enslaved. He should lose at least one hand and probably an eye for that.
