Is it that one or ALL of these SIX wonderful legislators will vote NO on EVERY TRump appointee - since they dont feel him worthy?

If so they are not doing their job properly.

Are you kidding?

Do you know why Trump got two SCOTUS seats?

Do you know why Trump is appointing so many federal judges?

Because the GOP did not do their jobs when the previous president was a nigger.

How about what Tom Cotton did to President Blackenstein’s nominee for Ambassador to the Bahamas, for crissakes!

You and your cohort have no moral core.

Well answer your own question, then.  Do you have grounds to say that rejecting appointees is NOT for cause?  You didn't answer Oily's question:  is it not sensible to reject an appointee with a conflict of interests as a defense lobbyist?

I answered it.  Comes down to capabilities for the position.

Do you wish to oiutline why you feel he is incapable?

Because he was a lobbyist?  Is that what you are going with?

I looked in on the hearing, before work.  Looks like some of the far right coalition want to poison the media by making it look like long-debunked bogus allegations about the Special Counsel's investigation are somehow again genuine.  This will serve to create an alternate narrative in the media which will then dampen down and muddy the clearcut findings of Mueller's report.  A certain percent of Americans have the odd notion that if people in nice clothes with official titles say something, no matter how blatantly untrue, that there must be some sort of fact in there that will challenge everything they imagine that Liberals believe.  The thing is, it's very rare that one single fact will change a thousand others.  Especially a fact viewed in odd isolation, without context to give it meaning or significance.

I would probably say no to appointing a former lobbyist, for the fairly obvious reason that too intimate a connection to defense contractors who profit from large military buildups and actions could affect one's judgment about the wisdom of said buildups and actions.  There may be other reasons, but I would have to do more research on the matter.

From what I gather, there is a lot of movement from government to lobbyist and back.

My impression, as well.  Which means that a common practice deserves Congressional scrutiny.   Especially where the stakes are high, as they might be when you have a powerful industry with great influence, and a key cabinet post where life and death decisions are made.

House Republicans are in free fall. Their grand strategy depends solely on conspiracy theories. But if Chuck Todd’s performance is any indication of how the “librul” media is gonna cover this... we’re in for a long few months and it’s gonna truly be a prize fight.

Dems are laying a firm groundwork based on fact. GOP is literally running on Area 51 shit where you have to believe the entire Obama DOJ, CIA, FBI, NSA etc conspired against candidate Trump and he still won.

Everything they say and are saying in this hearing and beyond is total BULLSHIT because that’s all they got.

But the Main Stream Media must be held accountable because y’all know better than most their corporate overlords are with Trump.

Mueller confirms that the President of the United States would be an indicted criminal if he was not able to use his position as a shield.

Predictably REDSTATEWARD and kiidcarter8 are unmoved.

And we are all very sure they would have the same exact reaction if the same had happened under Obama.

California has lost over 500,000 jobs to China alone, we need to balance trade with China, they need to buy our stuff. Their people need jobs, and our people need jobs too! If they want us to buy their stuff, then they need to buy our stuff.

The Chinese need to buy California wine, and California cheese, and Florida orange juice, and Kentucky Bourbon, and Idaho frozen French fries, and other products from the USA, we have great stuff, it is not punishing them by making them buy our stuff. They will love American products. And China loves McDonald's.

Americans are great at marketing and advertising, and the Chinese already love McDonald's, we can sell them stuff the same way that we sell them Big Macs at McDonald's.

We just need to be able to get our goods into the Chinese markets without the high tariffs so our goods are competitively priced, and we need to be able to do advertising there on their televisions and radios and newspapers, etc. We are great at marketing and advertising and at selling stuff. We can easily sell our stuff in China if we are allowed to.

Salute,

Tony V.

From what I gather, there is a lot of movement from government to lobbyist and back.

You got it. This is what the Republican Party is for. Any power they have is bent to this purpose.

It’s the dominant partnership between corporate oligarchy and an autocrat and his flunky court.

This is the butt sex that identifies a fascist culture. It’s why we have rules against it, and in many cases, laws.

Read Orwell if you want to find out what happened to Kiid.
