WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump on Saturday denigrated a majority-black district represented by a congressional nemesis as a “disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess,” broadening a campaign against prominent critics of his administration that has exacerbated racial tensions.

Trump lashed out in tweets against Rep. Elijah Cummings, the powerful House Oversight Committee chairman, claiming his Baltimore-area district is “considered the worst run and most dangerous anywhere in the United States.” It was the president’s latest assault on a prominent lawmaker, and the people he represents, two weeks after he sparked nationwide controversy with racist tweets directed at four congresswomen of color....

A few days after kiidcarter8 complained that criticism of Trump’s “shithole countries” was unfair, Trump essentially applies the same racist argument to an American district and to the Americans who live there.

But let’s all talk about how AOC used the word “garbage.”

It’s the Republicans and Trump supporters who cover for his racism with lies that are garbage.

I had a moment of thinking, well, this is so blatant that it might prick the conscience of a few moderates in the party, but I took a deep oxygenating breath and I knew we'd get the sound of crickets.  I am starting to think it possible Der 45 will self-destruct before Nov. 2020.

A majority say they have no plans to vote for the man, while a majority think he collided and/or obstructed justice in some way.

Well, then you are good for 2020.  Right?

Just wait it out - and we will all be fine.

Fuck no. Kick every republican in the teeth everywhere you find them every damn day. They are scumbags. They need to understand they are easily recognized as scumbags and that their persistent scumbaggery has left indelible marks on their pasty faces leaving them open to ridicule, humiliation, and outright attack from every direction by every decent person everywhere.

Fuck republicans. Break them for their bad choices and bad faith. Tie that anchor to their necks and drive them into the sea. Destroy their strongholds and monuments. Let the jungles swallow their bones. They have bottomed out as noxious garbage. It’s time to take out the trash.

The 120 or so representatives left in the GOP will have enough room in their caucus chamber to invite the 30 or so surviving GOP senators to huddle with them for safety like so many cowards in the dark.

Trump is itching to print money.

He wants to pull of the difficult stunt of combining economic contraction with monetary inflation.

It would be a feat as rare as recording 10 turnovers, 10 fouls, and 10 missed free throws without scoring a point or collecting a rebound. Trump is trying to mess around and get himself a triple-double.

He should have spent some time learning about economics and business practices and less time assaulting women and memorizing the speeches of Adolph Hitler.

Well, then you are good for 2020.  Right?

Just wait it out - and we will all be fine.

Yeah, pay no attention to the climate crisis. We'll all be fine.

Pay no attention to the kids kidnapped from their families. We'll all be fine.

Pay no attention to the adults crammed in at triple the occupancy rates. We'll all be fine.

Pay no attention to the Senate Intelligence Committee's report on Russian election meddling. We'll all be fine.

Pay no attention to the rapidly growing federal deficit and national debt and percentage of budget that goes to pay for the interest, alone.

"We'll all be fine."

And to hell with everybody else. Right, kid?

You, and the democrats, are left seemingly longing for a recession as the Russian hoax continues to be an albatross around your necks.

Have to appreciate the skill of this troll; so much here the exact opposite of the truth, and in only one sentence!

When Obama was President and trying to pull the country out of recession Republicans constrained government spending, argued against lowering interest rates, and railed against QE. promised.)

The voters gave the government to the democrats in 2008 who promptly designed a bailout package beholden to their donors and forced us into ObamaCare. The voters rebelled in 2010.
It wasn’t until 2017 when republicans cut taxes and Trump slashed anti-business regulations that our economy began to take off again

Which explains the results of the 2018 election, when the voters rebelled again. Or the 2012 election. But then, you are fairly consistent in arguing that only the elections your side wins count.

And.of.course your main point is based on two huge lies. There has been no discernible positive impact from the tax cut. And the growth of the economy is almost precisely what it was during Obama's second term. Slightly worse on job growth. Arguing that Trump is responsible for our current economy is like arguing the workers who paint the car are responsible for the car.

Trump's corporate tax cuts and de-regulations put jet fuel into an already well running economy, and was a huge gift to the wealthy. How many more tax cuts or stripping away of safeguards will be needed when the economy eventually slows, and we as a nation are drowning in debt? This is a time to be fiscally conservative and paying down debt, rather than run it up, with irresponsible tax cuts for those who least need it. And Republicans know it, but are too afraid to argue against the idiot racist puppet President, and are beholden to thier donors.  The rainy days are coming, and it may be a fucking deluge, and the corps and wealthy have yachts to ride out the storm.

The middle-class will receive the Republicans thoughts and prayers, and maybe some government issued paper towels.

Hardly.  The dems built a House majority by running conservative candidates in red districts and reconstructed a blue dog minority that now has caused a amor rift  that Pelosi and the Progressives are trying to manage,

Or the 2012 election.
Obama's coattails were hardly long and long gone by 2014.

LOL Unless you ignore the wage increases which have largely benefitted the lower job holders.  The latest GDP number beat the forecasts due to increased consumer spending to the point of reaching its highest level of confidence since the Clinton years. But sssh! democrats today don't like to talk about those years anymore.
Elizabeth Warren now has a paper on how to avoid an economic crash by relying on a wealth tax, education for all, tax increases, etc.  A better title would be How toe CREATE an economic crash.

If Trump boosting the economy means "making the market more predatory while inflation steals buying power" then yes, he's a success.

Such revisionist history, ignoring everything that the charts show us, let alone that the bailouts started before Obama was in office, but why let reality get in your way.
