More than 500 dead.

More than 2,000 injured.

And... that is not even close to the majority of murders committed with handguns and rifles?

And murders are not most of the firearms deaths in the US. Not even close.

When will the GOP accept that we need restrictions on handguns and rapid fire rifles??

The other ironic thing about Ward's lies on this is his reaction when a Democratic candidate directly contradicts his position.

He attacks her for politicizing things, as if (a) it was not long since political and (b) he had not just politically attacked the Dems for not behaving politically.

It is becoming almost impossible not to draw the conclusion the GOP has lost its moral compass, and is putting the US into danger.

Yes.

Someone should look up the meaning of the word politics.  Of course the question of how a government should regulate firearms is political.   Seeking a policy solution to a mass murder problem isn't "politicizing" the events which are the problem.  It's just reminding citizens of the problem and prompting a continued push to action.   We aren't going to miraculously cure all mental illness, nor get rid of all guns in the hands of the mentally ill (or chronically angry) but we sure as shit can back policies that constructively work on that.   

Asshole mitigation, however, is beyond the purview of politics.

Watching the Sunday AM TV political shows it is both sad and maddening to see the equivocations, rationals and inability of the Repub spokespeople to call out Trump and his racist appeals. The cowardice of the Repubs is extraordinary. They've lost any sense of conventional morality. Wil it take a mass shooting in an infested Baltimore for people to connect the fucking dots?
