Repubs are in hiding trying to figure out how to pretend to give a shit, but really avoid doing anything meaningful about gun control.

Can't piss off the NRA.

I can almost understand Repubs cowering and not biting the hand that feeds them, but why have they disappeared on the white supremacist angle.

Repubs are fucking evil gutless anti-American cowards.

What did Obama do about 'White Supremacists'?

A) He didn't put it in quotes to suggest they weren't real, asshole.

B) Under his administration, the groups that worked to track them and to protect against them were allowed to do their work, rather than having their budgets cut and their teams shut down.

Why am I bothering to respond to you? You don't listen, you just repeat the same bullshit again and again, no matter what the external reality is.

When Obama controlled Congress, did he and the Democrats actually do anything to ban certain weapons?
Actually do anything real to stop the massacres?

I believe he did.

The question is - if given another 8 years, what would have occurred?

Tough to say.  So much of it is just TALK - being that it is so difficult getting anything done no matter who controls Congress.

Yes, no-ideas built there.
Storms, king tides etc have been eroding beaches in Australia for 40,000 years or more is my guess.

And nothing ever changes things to makes things worse. Certainly nothing man could do would change it!

That's also why there have been no changes in the wildlife in Australia since man's arrival....

Wrong:  white men have been driven to near-extinction!

You're welcome.  It's the sort of book you can read the intro, and then dip into areas of special interest to you, if you don't have time or inclination to go cover-to-cover.

It's becoming a depressingly recurrent pattern that these shooters, in retrospect, prove to have given all sorts of red flags to the world...

Quote
Johnson said on their first date, Betts showed her a video of the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting. She said Betts had “uncontrollable urges” that she called “red flags,” which eventually led her to call things off in May. When she broke up with him, she said she reached out to his mother to express her concern, but she didn’t elaborate on what they discussed in that conversation.

Two former classmates told The Associated Press that Betts was suspended during their junior year at Bellbrook High School after a hit list was found scrawled in a school bathroom. That followed an earlier suspension after Betts came to school with a list of female students he wanted to sexually assault, according to the two classmates, a man and a woman who are both now 24 and spoke on condition of anonymity out of concern they might face harassment.

Others remembered how he tried to intimidate classmates.

“It’s baffling and horrible that somebody who’s been talking for 10 years about wanting to shoot people could easily, so easily, get access to a military grade weapon and that much ammo,” said Hannah Shows, a former high classmate who remembered seeing Betts look at people and imitate shooting at them.

“He was someone who enjoyed making people afraid,” she said.

Former Bellbrook High School classmate Addison Brickler rode the bus with Betts and said he taunted her regularly.

“He was the bully,” Brickler told the AP. “He used to make fun of me on the bus, talk about my weight, make me feel bad about myself. He would laugh and think it was funny, joke about it. We thought it was a normal thing.”

But the seemingly normal heckling turned scary one day when she said two police officers pulled Betts off their bus during her first few weeks of high school. When she arrived home that day, her mom sat her and her brother down to tell her the school principal had called — they had been named on Betts’ “hit list.”

Betts disappeared from the halls of Bellbrook High School. Students were offered counseling, teachers checked on kids, and extra police officers were on hand. Brickler said Betts later returned to the school....

Come to America!  If you spend a decade going around saying how much you would like to kill some people, we will sell you a military-style assault weapon!  Freedom!  2nd Amendment!

Shooters don't care about Hate Crime Bills.

https://news.sky.com/story/why-are-white-men-more-likely-to-carry-out-mass-shootings-11252808

Professor Wilson added that men tend to have fewer support networks outside the family unit and their workplace, which can be problematic if one of those breaks down.
He said: "Men all over the world have these experiences, but they don't carry out mass murders.

"The reason is that we have different gun laws.
"It is not the lack of provision of mental health services in the US, but the availability of guns."

#####

Obama didn't 'get the guns', nor can Trump.
Because White males in America can see what's happening to their ilk around the world...disarmed, feminised, beaten down, and forced into squalid hovels as homes, begging for food.
They don't want to become like bambu...unarmed and a sitting duck for any bad person to abuse, beat to a pulp in his own home, rape, and/or murder.

Congratulations, Bambi-assholeness, you proved it again.

Men and women, in general, are being driven to near-extinction, but Bambi doesn't believe in that, either.

Do you think - from a white man's perspective - that the continued decrease in % of US population that is white is something that should concern them?

How about the increase in % that do not speak English?

Picciolini: Any tragedy that happens now is being politicized, so it doesn’t surprise me. He’s very good at kicking little buckets of gasoline over sparks of fire that already exist. Racism existed before he became president, and is now again at the fore. When he says those things, he is speaking to his base by not coming out strong for a very specific opinion, as after Charlottesville[, Virginia,] when he said there were good people on both sides. This is a little bit of a dilemma for me, because I also have to believe there are good people on both sides in order to do what I do.

The stranglehold a few dozen white men have on the nation’s wealth should concern the rest of the white men. The fact the Uber white Uber rich would rather bankroll white ISIS than pay their fair share of taxes should concern the rest of white men.

The fact that thousands of the most inadequate white men are gung ho to join this race war, to the detriment of all American families should concern white men.

But please keep trying to justify White ISIS and explain to us how it won your sympathy.

The people are so divided that a congresswoman from El Paso has said that she does not want Trump to visit El Paso.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2019/08/05/el-paso-walmart-shooting-veronica-escobar-says-trump-not-welcome/1919915001/

Instead of coming together during tragedies, we are pulling further apart.

America is being put to the test, but America has been tested before and has survived.

Our checks and balances work, and we have a good Constitution and a good Bill of Rights.

Or people are pulling together as they identify Trump as the source of divisiveness.

Yes, but not because they have a shrinking percentage, per se.

The concern should be for their decrease in both fertility and chosen reproduction. Fewer of them can have children easily and fewer of them are trying to have kids, at all.

Those are both sources of concern for me as is the sharp increase in suicides among certain sub-populations within the so-called white population of the U.S.

How about the increase in % that do not speak English?

Yes, but again not for the reason that you might be upset.

I worry about the quality of our schools and our teaching. I worry about it in the areas in which English is still largely the only language spoken, as surely as those with a major second language.

Many nations have multiple languages, India, e.g.  It's only a problem if citizens can't learn the second language they might need for specific career goals or moving to a region where it's predominantly spoken.  So, yes, it could be an education issue.  Everyone should have a chance to be bilingual, and it's good for the brain.
