Young people in Australia who are not drinking alcohol has risen 50% in the last 6 years.

President Trump has been setting a fine example in this regard.

What percentage of Australian youth do you suppose know Trump's drinking proclivities?

We get a lot of news from America.

China has the whole world by the throat.
The world was warned, but wouldn't listen.
Look around...'everything' we buy is made in China.
China...an economic powerhouse.
China...buying up the world one farm, one house, one company, one country at a time.
The West...going broke fast.

The Chinese are coming, the Chinese are comiing! Chicken little was right!

If China didn't care what anybody else thought, they would have squashed the rebellion by now, ninny.

And as for the buying pattern:

We Americans blithely ignore the long-term effects of allowing foreign corporations to purchase the assets of our country in the form of companies, land, and resources. We are selling off our ability to produce wealth by allowing many American corporations to be purchased by foreign corporations. It is not just foreign companies buying our assets that is the problem ─ it is the state-owned and massively subsidized companies of China that are dangerous because China uses its state-owned enterprises as a strategic tool of the state. By pretending they are private companies abiding by free-market rules makes us the biggest chumps on the planet.

Meanwhile, SW of LA, in the land of open spaces where US missiles will soon be situated...one for the 'climate change' brigade:

http://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/alan-jones-says-scott-morrison-should-shove-a-sock-down-the-throat-of-jacinda-ardern/ar-AAFPNVC?li=AAgfYrC&OCID=AVRES000

Alan Jones says Scott Morrison should 'shove a sock down the throat' of Jacinda Ardern

The radio presenter Alan Jones [no1 radio host] has said Scott Morrison [Prime Minister] should “shove a sock down the throat” of New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Ardern, in abusive remarks on Thursday.

The radio host – who previously said Julia Gillard should be put in a “chaff bag” and thrown in the sea – said Ardern was “a complete clown” and “a joke” and too outspoken about the climate crisis.

Both leaders are at the Pacific Islands Forum in Tuvalu, where nations have urged Australia to commit to reducing emissions. Ardern said on Wednesday that Australia “has to answer to the Pacific” and said New Zealand would “do our bit”.

“Here she is preaching on global warming and saying that we’ve got to do something about climate change,” Jones said on radio station 2GB. “I just wonder whether Scott Morrison is going to be fully briefed to shove a sock down her throat.”

Jones claimed that New Zealand’s per capita carbon dioxide emissions had grown more than Australia’s – but also reassured listeners there was “nothing wrong with” carbon dioxide.

This Alan Jones seems like a properly ignorant moron. Was he repeatedly kicked or kneed in the head at some point in his life?

After an entire lifetime it's probably hard to change, but don't be overly simplistic.
Did you know that drinking too much water can kill you?
(and of course too much water can kill a plant)

Also, it's weird to refer to a respiratory gas as a food source.  We don't say oxygen is a food source for people.  Or I'm going to snack on a little O2 now.  Best to drop the word "food" -- it's an anomalous usage.

Bambi would have to be talking about Moscow Mitch and the Russian Aluminum beachhead in Kentucky.

Red Dawn in a red state. Sold out by the con men in charge. Go figure.

The link between GOKKK welfare and Immigration cuts,

http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/us_5d5449bbe4b0cfeed1a78246

I don’t think raw racism alone will get us out of the coming recession. It’s a shame the misadministration doesn’t have anything else to base a policy on. The smart people looted, ran away, and lawyered up long ago. Nothing left in the White House but the morons and the rats.

Generally when foreigners start buying up US assets, there's a minor panic at the time, but they tend to overpay for prestige assets, and usually the buying binge fades and they lose money on their purchases.

Of course, I'm thinking the Japanese and Saudis, which both became wealthy societies in a short span of time.  And both were allies.  While China is still a developing country, though with some stunning wealth and great inequality.  And more strategic purchases in line with gov't directives.

Lotta Russians were/are buying up NYC real estate to launder their money and stash it abroad.  US is a large economy.  Stuff to monitor but not get too concerned about.

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — U.S. Rep. Steve King on Wednesday defended his call for a ban on all abortions by questioning whether there would be “any population of the world left” if not for births due to rape and incest.

Speaking before a conservative group in the Des Moines suburb of Urbandale, the Iowa congressman reviewed legislation he has sought that would outlaw abortions without exceptions for rape and incest. King justified the lack of exceptions by questioning how many people would be alive if not for those conceived through rapes and incest.
