California has lost over 500,000 jobs to China alone, we are in a crisis right now, if it was not for Section 8 Housing, and also Social Security benefits, and other programs, then it would be extremely bad. Meanwhile, we have homeless people lining the streets, even with programs running at full steam to help the homeless.
And China is already the world's biggest economy, we need for them to straighten up and we need for them to start buying our stuff. Fair is fair. They need good human rights, and fair pay and good treatment, but the main thing at this point is that they do not have the right to hurt the economy in California, once they start making our people homeless then it is time for change. We need to start creating jobs for our own people. The Chinese need to buy American goods.
So far as the money from the tariffs, we should use that money to build high speed trains. That was how we built our highway system was from tariffs on imports. We should build a high speed train between New York City and Washington DC. We can also build a high speed train between Anaheim and Las Vegas. And then there is the California high speed train which needs to be finished. Other routes can happen too.
Tourism creates over 160,000 jobs in Orange County, California, alone, and the tourists also love New York City and Washington DC, and Florida, and other areas. We need to make it nicer for our tourists, we need to feed them the best food, we need to have wonderful experiences awaiting them, and high speed trains could contribute to improving the experience for our tourists.
And we need to get everything cleaned up, and we need to help the homeless people, and we need to educate the children so that the future will be better.
(Of note too, is that California is still wealthy, and compared to the rest of the world we have a great economy. But, we should, and could, have a better economy, we need to get some positive momentum going to improve things.)
Salute,
Tony V.
