Felt bad for Opie last night, as the big kids were beating him up

Aunt Bea made him cookies to cheer him up

He might want to sit down with Pa and consider a future career in law enforcement or film-making, but not QBing, as he may get killed without an O-line

And he probably should not listen to the radio or internet as he will hear/read some variation of he should retire or the G-Men should have drafted a QB instead Barkley.

I don't know which NY radio you listen to, but I suspect its might be NPR, because if you listened to "FAN you would have heard some combination of Yankee post-mortem calls killing Stanton and Boone, and an avalanche of calls, questioning the Giants strategy to reload based upon Eli's leading the team, and that Eli is cooked, done finito, and when does he get benched.

The 1st and 2nd guessers ruled the airwaves in a wake of the Yankees and Giants losses.

There is no question Barkley is a hugely talented player, but All Things Considered, he's a luxury item for a team that needs basics.

its like putting a $25,000 deluxe 30 speaker audio system in a '72 shitbox Ford Pinto.

Yeah..my bad

Didn't realize you were talking about the genius callers.  People who actually have some credibility gave that no attention.

Questioning the Barkley pick is beyond asinine.

Any picks this week, Dickie is from Southy?

Speaking as a fan of a team that passed on Goff and Wentz and Watson, and as someone who wanted his team to draft Barkley, it is not an asinine question, no matter how good Barkley is. The Giants need a franchise Quarterback for the future more than they need a stand out running back. Runn8ng backs do not win championships in the way QBs do. How many championships did Barry Sanders and LaDamien Tomlinson get?

Maybe the Giants will be bad enough to luck into a franchise Quarterback in the next year or so. Or maybe they will panic into reaching for a Quarterback in hopes of nabbing one. But if Darnold or Allen or Rosen become elite Quarterbacks and the Giants struggle to find Manning's successor, that is a legitimate question you will be hearing for years.

Sorry koach some people recognized the G-Men needed a complete overhaul, starting with a rebuild of the O-line. Adding a running back, even as good as he is, with the #2 pick, seemed to me like a luxury item for the Giants.

I posted last year there were 2 reasonable choices, draft a new franchise QB or trade the #2 for a basket of picks to start rebuilding the holes on the O and D.

But new management pussied out and kept the Maras and Tisches and the pitchfork carrying folks of Mayberry happy, and avoided the QB controversy that was staring them right n the face, and picked a running back at the #2, and then compounded their stupidity by extending OBJ to a new mega contract.

And the good but simple townfolk of Mayberry were told the G-Men were an offfensive juggernaut now ready to compete for post-season glory.

What they got was a good running back with no O-line to open holes for him, or protect an all but immobile and quickly deteriorating QB, who has no time other than to throw 2 yard check downs, while OBJ heads for the locker-room throwing his teamates under the bus.

G-Men's season is all but over, and one can only hope that new management picked up some Titleists, as thats the only ball that will see any action this post-season by BIG BLUE.

I know squat about fantasy football, but from what I understand, running backs like Barkley are highly prized in fantasy world, which may explain kid's delusion and his confusing the real world and real football, with his fantasies.

And you, me and more than a few others, have mentioned "Barkley"Sanders in posts.
