Giants are now in QB hell and cap hell. Eli has one 30 point game in three years! Jets are in QB and cap heaven.

A few mocks have Giants taking the Oregon QB.

Bank will tell us that combining Barkley and Herbert cannot possibly be better than having drafted Sam Darnold.

The best argument I think for Barkley remains  that he's a once-in-a-generation talent and that the type of talent that was available QB wise comes along every year.  The problem with that argument is that you're not always in a position to grab that QB talent and that even if you do, by the time that QB talent is developed and ready (I think QBs, with notable exceptions, take several years to be ready to win and running backs are usually done, with fewer notable exceptions in only a few years), Barkley would likely be on the downside and thus the benefits of having both might not be that great.

I think Herbert is as talented as anybody who came out last year, but he seems several years away from being an NFL QB.

I think the Giants wont pick #1 - and Herbert may very well be gone.

Who they take is anyone's guess.

Maybe Eli gets pasted and we get to see one of the 2 backups.

Doesnt usually happen though - does it?

JACOBY BRISSETT has been brought up as a guy Giants should look at.  I dont disagree.

Herbert is ranked number one on most draft sites. Giants should go after him. Mara still cannot believe that Eli has any thread left on the tires?

Eli rates just fine.

I dont think Giants will have the top pick.  But we shall see.

There's no need to misrepresent my opinion, and an opinion that has gained currency as the Giant's season has developed.

So I will repeat what I said last year, the Giants had two good options with the #2 pick

1) draft Eli's successor
2) trade the pick for a package of picks to address a few areas of concern

Again, Barkley is a very talented player, but very few running backs, particulalry in today's pass-centric game, are the centerpiece of a team's offense.

I'll stick to the pimpimg out the  '72 Pinto shit-box analogy.

And as I'm not really familiar with Herbert, I'll pass judgement on him.

So kid, play to your strength, and feel free to misrepresent my opinion on him to cover your own inadequacies.

Nope I concluded with the #2 pick the Giants had two options, neither of which was buying a $25,000 audio system for a '72 shit-box Pinto.

IMO Barkley was a luxury item that Giants could not afford.

If the Giants end up with another top (1-4) draft pick maybe they should seriously consider the next franchise QB if they think he's there

and then use the next couple of picks (2nd 3rd round) to start rebuilding the O-line, becasue if you stick a rookie QB behind that line and he will get killed.

or if ther next QB is not there consider trade offers to trade down, and use the extra picks to rebuild.

I don't know enough about Herbert to conclude he's the next G-Men franchise savior.

But in the next couple weeks, will start watching more college games and start making observations.

I find that information is the best way to start to form a useful opinion.

I understand thats a concept foreign to you.

I think James Stewart or (insert free agent here) could be doing all that with the reps.

heh

Coolest stat is Barkley has yet to carry 20 times in a game

Kid you keep on confusing fantasy scoring with the how the modern NFL game is played.

very few losing teams use a running game to get back into games.

Its mostly a time management problem.

Barkley is a very talented RB, but his skills may not be fully untilized in his current situation.

Funny how I've been hearing more and more 2nd guessing on WFAN over the pick.
