I actually don't see/hear Eli "rated" very often.  Thus tough for him to be OVER or UNDER.

Eli's been under a ton of scrutiny over the past few years, and certainly the past two years. His benching in '17 ultimately got a coach fired, and there was the heated debate when the Giants used the #2 pick in the '18 draft on a running back rather than a new QB, in a draft with several potential successors.

To say you hven't heard him rated suggests you are deaf to the obvious roar.

How would you rate him?

Gettleman had heard about the Duke wonderkid as a transformational player and the #1 pick.

He thinks he drafted Zion.
In his defense, if you see your quarterback of the future you take him, regardless. You do not say, get him at 17. My problem is, there is nothing in any of what I have seen to make him better than, say, Tannehill or some other middling but not awful QB, and in many ways that is the worst kind of QB to have.

I think the general feeling is that Jones was a huge stretch at #6.

17? Supposedly he was a consideration if he got to #32 for the Pats.

I thought the Giants were going Josh Allen at 6.

Gettleman is an idiot.

And I'm being kind.

You are free to think he isn't a Hall of Famer ... but that doesnt make him overrated.

Eli has had a very distinguished Ny Giants career.   Might be top 5 most loved of all time NYG.

Canton or not, we like him.

My feelings exactly. I'll hold door for the douchebag.

Only time will tell. Make sure you come back and apologize, if you're wrong. After all, you have all that experience putting NFL teams together and evaluating players.

I like Opie too.

And so does Andy, Barney and Aunt Bea.

But they don't think he's a HoF QB either.

Otis does though.

I look at all Hall debates as a comparison thing. I think Eli has been at least as good as Bob Griese.

I think comping QBs from vastly different eras is apples and oranges.

IMO and entirely off the top of my head, Griese was a better QB in his era than Eli is in his.

Sorry, just getting to this -

I am fine with how NYG are handling the final stages of Eli's tenure.  I have already stated a few times that I would not have passed on Barkley.

And I have stated I have Jones starting in '21-'22.  If its sooner, that is fine.  Means he looks ready - and that would be a good thing.

I did like the one other QB who we could have gotten much later - and thus would have been OK with not taking a round 1 guy.  But he can play.  Just means we don't have to use a 1 or 2 next year on the position.

If people think he should be in the Hall of Fame, then those people are overrating him.

Not suggesting he is not beloved or that he didn't have a distinguished career.
