Patriots caught up in funny business.

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/patriots-themselves-caught-litigation-between-173035087.html

It's a pretty stupid move by the coach's former employer and business as usual for football hiring by the Pats. The only odd thing about it is the suit.

If you can find it, GREENY's opening monologue today on ESPN/ESPN Radio is awesome.

Puts Brady with Jordan (actually ahead), Ruth and Gretzky in team sports history.

Clearly the man has never heard of Otto Graham.

I didn't hear the Greeny monologue, and context and content matters, but as long as we're wearing our home jerseys, if he did have have Bill Russell looking down on the shoulders of Ruth, Gretzky, Jordan Brady, or anyone and their contributions to team sports, he sort of missed the mark.

As we get closer to gametime, I could see this line climbing to 4.5+ and i'd still be leary of it.

Rodgers to the Patriots? Discuss.

If I were he, I'd leap at it.

If I were GB, I would laugh. Not happening.

If I were the Pats, it would be salary dependent and unlikely to work, but if GB were so inclined, I'd assume Rodgers was injured, somehow.

Doesn't Stafford make more sense? I mean, they need a QB for more than next year. Stafford has more years on him, though I think Indy is a better fit. For what IW, winning with Stafford as a QB might feed BB's ego better than Rodgers.

I'd pinpoint a little used QB and take a shot.

Dude from Washington is an example.  Pittsburgh's Joshua Dobbs is another.

Rodgers to the Patriots? Discuss.

doubtful.

Its not the "value" type of player BB likes.

And GB would likely want to a lot of draft capital.

and as boz alludes to, BB's ego might require him winning with a lesser talent than Rodgers.

and there is the prima dona factor

And if he didn't win with Rodgers BB's legacy might take a hit.

Stafford if healed might fit the mold and budget better.

Decent QB, who needs a new team and a chance to restart their career.

He's younger (32) than Rodgers and is under a "reasonable" contract and would give the Pats time to find a long-term answer

But what I've read indicates there could be a lot of bidders-so that might rule out the value aspect.

We'll see.

IMO BB has 2+ years to reboot, as most rational people won't hold 2020 and its general and team specific challenges against him.

But the clock is ticking and it wil get loud pretty quickly.
