And he's got a great education to fall back on if it doesn't work out.

At Maryland we used to hear that from UVA students.

So now there are only three colleges to have had at least one player taken in each year of the common draft.  University of California*, Florida and Meatchicken. No one picked from MSU this year.

* Southern

Duffy and the crew from '66 are incredulous.

Still responsible for 4 of the first 8 choices of the common draft, including Bubba Smith and Clint Jones 1 and 2.

Another sad CTE case

“What a great leader he was on and off the field.“

Maybe it's time we find another way for these young leaders to develop and show their leadership, rather than having their lives destroyed by concussions.

I think there is little evidence that the teens who play competitive football have the ability to evaluate the risks. And there is a ton of evidence that the adults who are ostensibly responsible for them have no willingness to protect the kids.

At minimum - a pamphlet handout on CTE to all youth league/HS/collegiate football players' and/or parents is in order.  So many in the dark

I am convinced soccer players are at risk as well.  Credit to Cindy Parlow (great US Olympian) for her work in this area - getting heading of the ball restricted or forbidden at many of the youth levels/leagues.

Yes, they certainly are.

https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/trump-spygate-stench-tainted-victory-new-england-ncna1269020

There is a certain stench emanating from Foxborough, Massachusetts — home of the New England Patriots, a team whose onetime National Football League dynasty aroused as much suspicion as awe. A similar odor can be traced to a country club in Palm Beach, Florida, where onetime President Donald Trump now calls home.

That Trump and Patriots owner Robert Kraft have formed a mutual admiration society comes as no surprise. Nor does the credible assertion that America’s 45th president enabled one of the more shameful episodes in the Patriots’ storied history.

Trump with undue influence on a Republican senator.

This is news?

If there is a story its that Spector took a bribe.

Legacy of shame.

Bob Kraft is dirty. Bottom line.

You misread the story. He didn't take the offer.

I read about 2/3 of the original ESPN story a few days ago. I stopped reading when it seemed it was all allegation and no facts. I've no idea if Spector took money or not.

Facts are important.

My retort to Utley ("if there is a story") were TIC, but on target.

It would not shock me that in 2008 a corrupt NYC developer, failed casino owner, reality TV star, and US's biggest deadbeat, who wanted to gain favor with Kraft, told him he had some pull with Spector and would ask for a favor. And it would not surprise me if Trump made a campaign contribution to Spector. Rich people buy influence with pols all the time. Nature of the beast. They call it campaign contributions rather than payola.
