Three card Monte with the NFL owners? Includes John Mara.

I wonder if those fines are enough to even get their attention. If I were the judge, I would likely announce a schedule of fines over the next X weeks/months with rapidly increasing figures, rather than leaving it until after their next failures to tell them, if the goal is to get the data sooner rather than later.

I am sure that the city is right that it cost them millions in revenue. I think is almost certainly true that the league ignored its own system for evaluating the moves a team might make.

I'm not sure that any of that entitles the city to any money from the NFL or from those individuals. And if I were to guess, I would say that the exact same two conditions (cost millions, ignored system) applied to how St. Louis got the Rams to begin with.

The NFL does what it wants.

Adam Schefter confirms he is an asshole.

https://sports.yahoo.com/espn-adam-schefter-step-too-far-emails-ex-wft-president-nfl-215632717.html

And the Daily Beast details the elastic ethics of Schefter, here:. https://www.thedailybeast.com/espn-reporter-adam-schefter-has-history-of-sketchy-unethical-behavior

Did the email to "Mr. Editor" include an original of the subsequently published story that would allow folks to see how or if it changed? Even if it didn't, that doesn't make the apparent offer to allow Allen to dictate changes right, but it might change how I saw things, especially if there had been a note back from Allen that suggested changes that were then not made!

I would guess that at least the return email from Allen exists, if not the original version of the story. It would be interesting to see.

I don't have an ethical problem with AS' allowing folks to pay him $3k for the right to sit next to him during a game, if he can get it.

The rest of it is beyond sketchy.

Anyone see the refs blocking for TB12, last night?

Guess they're no longer concerned about displaying their overt favoritism.

No.

I too once met a girl in Central Park, but it is not much to remember. What I remember is the time John Wayne killed three men with a carbine as he was falling to the dusty street in Stagecoach, and the time the kitten found Orson Welles in the doorway in The Third Man.

Gotta give it to the guy, he's always ready to suit up and play and he's always Ertz.

More unwillingness to explain anything.

Probably because he's an embarrassment to himself.
