"I think it’s tiring when losses are blamed on umpires calls because there is so much that goes on before and usually after..."

That's all Kay had to say.  The Yankees are poorly constructed team and their lack of success is entirely their own doing.

True, except the quality of umpiring has truly gone downhill all across the league(s). And in 9th inning game on the line, a pitch that far off the plate on a 3-2 count should NEVER be called a strike. The fact that it was called a strike effectively killed an opportunity to extend the home team's traditional advantage, an advantage now mightily muted by Manfred's malicious and murderous meddling in major league baseball.

Worst of the umps, 2021, starting in the METS home opener: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_X7sjmjeFvg

And these are horrible as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXT6D3PvA_U

Sometimes when you see a pattern of dysfunction, it's a pattern of dysfunction.
For some reason I handle the dysfunction and incompetence of the umpires better than I handle the dysfunction and incompetence of the team I root for.

That makes the rule, not the exception.

John Curtis is pitching pretty well for a 73 year old!

Consecutive sweeps... sort of.

Sloppy Marlins play, followed by sloppy Red Sox play, but theirs was sloppier. Sox win.

The observation was made during the Sox broadcast that tonight felt like most games did last year.

I get what he meant, even as I disagree.

I’m at Camden Yards. Social distancing without trying.

Houston does not have a problem.

At least when they play the Sox.

Opinions on having your (non-Ohtani) pitcher hitting 8th?
