Lupica lauds Henry's approach (he calls Henry the best owner in baseball) which I will define as Henry's openness to taking new paths, and accepting the risk in change.

As a Sox fan I've enjoyed the numerous successes, but at times felt whiplashed by seemingly constant change, from starting 9 to front-office. Say what you will, but its dynamic.

IMO, and just throwing this out, perhaps Henry's success and abilities as a hedge fund manager gives him a solid framework for assessing risk and reward and the trade-offs he must accept.

It is as good a theory as any, Banks, and better than any I have had.

and maybe bodes well for the Mets.

The boo birds are out in force in Yankee Stadium.

And it's not the visiting Mets fans doing the booing.

nice to hear the famillar voice of of former Sox PbP man Don Orsillo doing the game.

I always thought he and Remy were pretty good and fun (sometimes a little too silly) to listen to.

I wish the Red Sox would stop trying to steal with Gonzales and Santana late in games.

I also wish that Andriese would not pitch in tight ball games.

And I wish for this home plate ump to be investigated for his "strikes" against one team, but balls for the other, on pitches off the plate to the outside.

watching Andriese is painful

I was wondering if they would go to Workman for 1 more

and yup on those attempted steals, particularly the out at 3rd, took the bat out of JD's hand.

Quite the game today! All Star Matt Barnes seals the deal on >30 pitches, the most of this season by him.

Meanwhile, in NY, Chapman gave up 3 runs on a homer, walk, hbp, and 0 outs - with the help of the rest of the Y's bull[pen.

Never in sports history has such a mediocre team occupied so much space in non-fans minds.

The Mets, for years.

The Pats in 2020.

Mix-in their history, their pedigree, their address in the media center of this country et voila you get an overhyped team that's expected to win every year.

And their fans think they do.

So when they blow-up in spectacular fashion as they have done a few times over the past couple of weeks it draws attention.

I know that tonight's game is not even halfway done, but tomorrow's pitching match up is pretty good! Two newly minted All Star hurlers in Eovaldi and Ohtani will share the mound. Serially.
