"Manfred yanked two more series of games off the schedule. The owners have established a new "you must do this or we won't negotiate on anything else.' And the players are not amused."

Thats wht you said last time - before I told you that talks would surely resume.

Heh

But stick to your guns,  union guy.

/shrugs/

That's what they said last time.

And here we are a week later and fewer games in the regular season.

Do remember that you were the one who expected the season to start on time.

I stand corrected.

April 15th the  latest

I stand corrected.

And corrected further.

Not starting on time, but starting April 7th. This of course means the "must have four weeks of spring training" crap got tossed onto the scrap heap where it belonged.

And 162 games in the season.

Sorry to hear about ads on uniforms and batting helmets. And bigger bases will be weird.

I think the banning of shifts is stupid.

Phillies opening day is...April 8, 3:05pm start against the A's. DH's for both teams, bigger bases, and restrictions on how to employ the defense.

What would Connie Mack say?

That's next year, Pops.

No shift restrictions for '22.  And same bases.  But you do get you DH.

Good summary of the CBA rule changes, play-off format, and take a look at the difference those bases will make!

Not earthshaking news, but a step up from some of last year's pitcher signings.

Mets spending more money than anyone, and they look like the paper team to win it all. Everything is going great guns for the NYMets. Which, by Mets' rules, means something bad has to happen.

Here is the first bad omen of the year: https://sports.yahoo.com/mets-star-pete-alonso-thankful-to-be-alive-after-his-car-flipped-3-times-in-crash-165441559.html
