Oh, come on, kid. It's the Mets. This is how it works. The big signing, and then later on disaster and second guessing.

At least now the Mets have someone who can help them try to buy their way out of their mistakes and misfortunes.

Too bad the GM will only get the blame, if things go wrong, and the owner will get all the credit, if things go right. THAT, in a nutshell, is why the Mets had trouble landing their GM.

Think Buck Showalter gets the manager job, btw?

So the old guy Semien got 7 years and 25 mil per

Seager 325 for 10.

They will be almost as good as Lindor/Baez - if Mets were to keep that together.

JBJ back to the Sox.  Renfroe out.

I'm with the Herald. That's a stunning trade.

I sure hope those prospects are hot!

As much as I love JBJ as a fielder, Renfroe's hitting and fielding combined to make him seem far more valuable IMO than JBJ has been most of the time, even if he returned to hitting form (or what passed for it prior to 2021).

Were the CF metrics that poor a year ago?  What are the plans for Kike?  Or will Jackie be a 4th OF?

I see the parade of vet pitchers continues

Wacha, Hill, now Paxton (off Tommy John).

Should be an interesting year for the Alex's.

Maybe if/when MLB gets back on-line there will be another cleat to drop in the Sox JBJ reunion.

Seems like a lot to pay for a couple of mid-level prospects and a great glove/no bat CF. Speculation seems to be Kike plays 2nd, so a plus hitter there is an offset to JBJ in center. I'm assuming in the absence of a Christmas miracle, JBJ is a 4th OF, late inning defensive guy. Maybe Chaim recycles prospects into another bat.
