I've always thought that if Jack Clark catches the easy pop-up from the next batter, Balboni, who went on to single, or Darrell Porter doesn't let the pitch get by him, Denkinger's call likely would have been mostly forgotten.

Mets are in rapid decline. Kind of expected when you bring in the oldest and most expensive looking for a big payday. Buck should leave for not fighting for youngsters. GM looks like an idiot.
