So if sales are increasing how can a statement like "...Americans did not want EVs when this wasteful spending was passed and they do not want them now..." be true?
Pretty simple economics.
Congress appropriated billions for charging stations and none have been built.
Who is going to invest in building them if the cars are not selling at a rate that will demand the stations.
The Musk EV plan included stations so if you own a Tesla you have a full service car that has a gps to guide your car along a destination full of charging stations and how you are progressing.
But the bottom line is sales. Even if the rate is up if it does not meet a break point in profitability for the manufacturer then cars will not be built.
