Was choosing between Darnold and Mac Jones this week in fantasy - secondary league.  Not real competitive so pick may not matter much.  Replacing Heineke (Russel W on IR).  Winston, Wentz, Goff also available

Good job by Whisk to grab D Johnson for last night - guy was a beast.

He has given them quality carries every time they have needed him in the past. Supposedly he went undrafted because he ran a 4.8 on his pro day.

KO Pool

wk 1 SF
wk 2 CLV

Week 3 Denver

KO Pool

Week 4 Buffalo

Week 5 Minn.

Week 6 Indy

Week 7 narrowed it down to Cards or Pats, leaning Cards, but there may be no better week to use the Pats, got some new found free time so I may do some next level coin flipping this week.

1 game under in my ATS pool, but that puts me in 3rd place, 1 game behind the 2-co-leaders @ 47-46

EDIT KO POOL WEEK 7 Arizona

Went with Patriots D this week for what that's worth.  Good luck.

I imagine that BB went nuts this week on his D and his coaches after their no-show poor effort against the Cowboys last week.

I've no idea whether they provide value or not in fantasy football, but I expect a far better effort against the Jets.

Sure you do

Looks like we agree on the play.  I am sure you will bet Pats this week.  I am expecting 2 turnovers 3 sacks minimum and maybe a defensive score

Your mind-reading sucks.

I've already pointed this out.

I've never played fantasy football and have no idea what the value, absolute or relative, the Pats D renders to you.

its not how I approach the analysis of a football game.

Last week on an absolute basis, the Pats D was terrible against the Cowboys. They presented no value as far as real football was concerned.

This week you seem excited about them.

My hope is that they play a lot better against a far less talented Jets offense, after what was likely an intense week of practice and brow beating by BB and staff.

But what you had to pay for them is unknown to me, or if they were cheap (ie relative value) which allowed you to pick a better QB or running back or whatever calculations you have to make in putting together a fantasy team.

btw, I would also expect better special team play, as so far this year, it has been horrendous.

And as you know I tend not to bet against the Pats as I like rooting for them.

No cost for New England

Dallas is on a bye

Also could have selected Tampa Carolina New Orleans or a few others

There is opportunity cost.

As you remain as tight lipped as to your reasoning I can only guess why you prefer the Pats D to some of the other/better Ds you could have picked.

If I was playing fantasy football and looking for relative value in DEFENSE I would also look at the opponent's offense and in this case we have some history to guide us.

Wilson had a miserable game against the Pats first time around, being picked 3 or 4 times. Whether he learned from that experience or will be victimized again is a guess. But I expect a motivated and angry Pats D will not make it easy for the Jets or Wilson today.

So far this year the Pats tend to play to their opponents level, which is a mark of a poorly coached team. They lost tough games to two of the better teams in the NFC, (Bucs, Boys) games that could have been won, with slightly better play, or more aggressive coaching/risk taking.

Again on the assumption of a motivated and angry team and a team winless at home, the Pats play a better game today against a weak Jets team.

The Jets are also facing a rookie QB and an evolving offense, so the uncertainty of performance should be high.  But Bama Mac has shown a temperament and a skill set that seems to indicate he might be a pretty good pro QB, game manager variety (now)

I expect a low scoring defensive-oriented type game with the Pats winning a two-score type game.

Pats 24

Jets 10

Good luck

Jets seem to think this is the bye week.

They better perk up or there will be some searing hot takes by Boomer and Carton and Evan to deal with!
