Japanese culture has a lot of expectations, and when you can't meet these expectations you become a failure.
So these people just end up locking themselves in their rooms for weeks.
Called "HIKIKOMORI".
All men, seemingly.
Very common in Japan.

Yuichi Ishii, an actor, decided to do something about it.
He started a company, hired women, and trained them to just talk to the Hikikomori.
He gave the lonely people "sisters to rent".
Talk, walk around in society.
This way he got over 300 people to come out of their rooms, feel better.
Cool.

I worked for the Japanese when they owned Universal Studios, part of my job description was to escort Very Important Persons around the studio, I had a phone with a direct line to the studio and I could get the VIPs whatever they needed, I escorted a lot of Japanese people who I have no idea who they were, I escorted a lot of rich and famous Japanese people who I had no idea who they were.

The Japanese work hard for low pay, and they will work themselves to death, and if they are dishonored then they commit suicide, they are very hard on themselves.

I think that the Italians are better to work for, they are more generous, they work in moderation, they take long lunch breaks, and they do not work themselves to death like the Japanese, and yet the Italians still manufacture great things such as the Lamborghini automobiles, and they make great clothes and great shoes, etc, and the Italian movies are great.

It was hard to work for the Japanese, and  they never paid me over the bare minimum.

The Japanese need to relax, and not be so hard on themselves. It is good that an actor is helping them, the artists can help society. And for sure the workers in Japan need labor unions to support them and the Japanese need to have forced breaks from work, and they need to have a limit on the number of hours that they are allowed to work per day. The unions need to help the workers in Japan to have better lives.

I went to Italy in 2003 and I tried to get a job at the Cinecitta movie studio in Rome. Scorsese had just been there making "The Gangs of New York" and the studio was booming. I sent a headshot and resume to all of the production companies around Cinecitta, and I tried to get work there. I would have loved to have been able to make movies with the Italians, and I have a lot of good ideas.

Today is my Birthday, I am 55 years old today. It is hard because we have the idea in our head how we want life to be, and then we have the reality of how life actually is, and it is hard when the life that we want to have does not match up with our life that we are living. And we have these ideas that we can achieve our Dreams here in the USA and in California, and it is hard when we are not living our Dream life. I count my blessings, but there was so much more that I wanted to do with my life.

As I grow older it is hard here in Hollywood where people value youth and attractiveness, so instead I need to look at the cultures which value their elders, like the Native American Indians. The Native American Indians put their elders on their Councils to run their Tribes. And even in Hollywood, we all loved Lew Wasserman no matter how old he got, and in Los Angeles everyone loved Vin Scully and Tommy Lasorda.

I am trying to keep growing and learning as I grow older, and I will keep imagining fun dreams, and we will see what happens. Sometimes I am able to do great things, I lived in Malibu on the beach for 1 year and it was cool that I was able to achieve that Dream. And I traveled to France to the Cannes Film Festival, and I spent 6 weeks in Rome, and I went to Mexico with Youth For Christ, and I plan to travel more in the future. And it would be nice to see more of the USA, I have not been to New York yet, and I also want to visit New Orleans, and I want to go to the Kentucky Derby, etc.

Dr Charles Stanley says that our lives can be inspirational to help other people if we keep a good attitude and rise above the hard times, but he said that once we start complaining then we ruin it, he wants us to always look to God and never complain. But, I have a nurse who told me that I need to complain, she said that the squeaky wheel gets the oil, and that you will not get help if you do not complain, she wanted me to speak up. You have to speak up so that you can get help, but at the same time you need to try to be strong and to rise above the struggles. I can help others if I keep a good attitude, and it is good to complain but only when it is a necessity.

Yes, life doesn't always work out how we planned, desired, thought it would.

Think you have to be born rich to have a magical life, able to make all your dreams come true.
Everyone else seems to struggle...have crosses to bear.
Some people in first world countries have absolutely horrible lives.
Many people in second and third world countries have unbearably miserable lives from cradle to grave.
One positive for you is that you are not living on the streets.

Had a medical assessment today.
The young nurse didn't seem to understand that staying home and travelling the world every day via YouTube etc is a thing....hobby, past-time, relaxing way to spend one's retirement years.
From Birmingham Alabama to Birmingham England.
From New York USA to York UK.
From Uluru to Uruguay...
...and all places in between.
Greek Islands tours.
Cruises...sailing the seven seas without getting seasick.

LOL

No bed sores, I get off the bed every hour...wouldn't want to get DVT either.
The 'Men's Shed', lawn bowls, swimming pool, bus tours etc are not to my liking.
Covid, ...too hot in summer, and sawing and hammering things ... dust and noise are not for me.
I don't want to commit my time to anything, I want to be able to 'sleep til noon' if I so choose.
In between cruises, tours, van life following, auto reviews, there are chores to do.

It's great not having to commute and suffer the workforce...every day is the 'weekend'.
Trump is reportedly now shouting at anyone and everyone.
I'm the same age as Trump, and can't think of anything worse than putting myself through all that.
It's the quiet life for me.

I too once met a girl in Central Park, but it is not much to remember. What I remember is the time John Wayne killed three men with a carbine as he was falling to the dusty street in Stagecoach, and the time the kitten found Orson Welles in the doorway in The Third Man.

Thanks Bambu.

Yes, I am blessed to live in a rich city in a rich state in a rich country. I live about 5 miles from Disneyland, so I am really blessed. And I have a nice apartment with good neighbors, I am lucky.

And I have been lucky to meet a lot of movie stars, which is cool, and when I worked at Universal I used to eat lunch with Lew Wasserman in the cafeteria, and I worked for Suzanne Pleshette, and I drove a limousine in Malibu, I had some good times.

I have been lucky to have had dreams and I tried to be an actor and filmmaker, which is a hard route. Hollywood is a hard town to succeed in. But, I learned a lot of things that I can use to help the homeless people in Hollywood, etc.

I have eaten with Mayors and I gave them all of my ideas on helping the homeless. And I sent people my ideas on the world wide web on how to help people.

Thanks again Bambu.

Some people do not understand how lucky we are to live in California, and especially to be here in Anaheim. Even Lancaster is great, where I was born and raised, the desert was great back then.

Some people think this place is a ghetto, there are people who think every area is a ghetto, they moved to Lancaster and they call it a ghetto, and they come to this apartment complex and they call it a ghetto. There are people who think it is a ghetto no matter where they go, and they ruin neighborhoods instead of having a nice community and taking pride in your neighborhood.

Lancaster was like a resort when I was a kid, like Palm Springs, and the community built the Space Shuttles, etc, and there were people living there from the Entertainment Industry, etc. Now people are moving there from Compton, Watts, South Central, etc, and they are calling the desert a ghetto now. The desert is NOT a ghetto, it is a nice area, with a great community college. When I managed a dog kennel in Lancaster I used to have movie stars come in as customers. The desert can be a resort, like Palm Springs.

And Anaheim has Disneyland, this is a resort. This is not a ghetto. Our apartment complex has a swimming pool, and there is a park down the street that has tennis courts, this is not a ghetto. Anaheim is rich. And we have great schools in the area.

On the issue of Compton, Watts, South Central, and Inglewood, etc, they have the Rams now, and the Chargers, along with the Lakers and Clippers, etc, they can sell stuff to the tourists who come to the sporting events. If you can sell hamburgers to tourists then you can make honest money. There is no reason to be poor and to have a poor area if you can make money from the tourists.

And San Bernardino has the highest crime in California, and there is no reason for it, San Bernardino is wealthy, and the first McDonald's was in San Bernardino. We need to stop the crime and we need to teach the people how lucky they are to live in San Bernardino, San Bernardino is a resort town with golf courses, and they have a university in San Bernardino, etc.

California is rich, and we need to be a nice resort like Florida, and we have great schools, and we have Hollywood, we need to be grateful and we need to take pride in California, it is not a ghetto here, and we need to behave like good people who live in a good area.

Tony, get it through your head that Florida is a rapidly collapsing hell hole, a trap for feckless boomers who would otherwise be a blight on productive areas of the country like Anehiem or Lancaster.

What was immediately apparent to me when I came to California after extensive travels in the east and the heartland is that ghettos in California have better accommodations, more resources and better community feeling than middle class and upper middle class neighborhoods in most of the rest of the country. And those are the worst neighborhoods, the slightly better and even middle class neighborhoods are as nice as anyone could want while our extravagant opulence is as extreme as anywhere else while also benefiting from perfect settings. Many of our structures and much of our infrastructure is due for a rebuild, but fortunately in this state we have the cash on hand to do it and at the moment will see support rather than resistance from the Feds.

Florida is a state of sweat and anxiety, spiraling expense and deteriorating income, both driven by republican stupidity and boomer avarice.

You are gen x, Tony. At 55 it is high time you go back to school and learn from gen Z. Seek your answers in the students as well as the professors.

Choose yourself a completely new Associates Degree or Commercial Liscence. It is free to you in California in a way that just aint there for those poor fucks in Florida.

Remember education is Antifa and all fascists must go down.

No brain scan...replaced by a questionnaire 'brain scan'....questionnaire on general health.
"Had any falls recently"?
Long list of questions.
Eyesight test.
Height measurement.
