All of the people in politics get wealthy, and their families, just from the information and connections and all of the people trying to win influence, etc. Ben Franklin used to party all night drinking champagne with the French as he got loans for the USA.
But then sometimes there are people who are totally different such as Cesar Chavez, he died poor, he gave his whole life in service of the United Farm Workers. But we have streets named after Cesar Chavez and he made a difference. My ancestors picked fruit here in California during the Great Depression, and we have come a long way since then.
What do you guys think of Antonio Villaraigosa for Governor of California?
Salute,
Tony V.
