How is  a disagreement with Pelosi and Schumer "an emperor has no clothes" moment?

You didn't answer my question. But, in truth, I care as much about your answer as I do about what Bernie Sanders said.

Bernie is a socialist.  Pelosi and Schumer are not.

Bernie Sanders has a “ the emperor has no clothes “ moment.

During an interview with Axios' Jonathan Swan, the Vermont senator was asked if he supports fully restoring the State and Local Tax deductions (SALT). As part of President Donald Trump's signature tax reform legislation, those deductions were capped at $10,000, allowing taxpayers in high tax states to deduct the amount of state and local income or property taxes from the amount they paid in federal income taxes.

Bernie Sanders calls out Pelosi, Schumer for supporting 'tax break for rich people'
'You can't be on the side of the wealthy and the powerful if you're gonna really fight for working families'

Sen. Bernie Sanders ripped House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer for supporting what he agreed is a "tax break for rich people."

Bernie apparently had a senior moment, and became disconnected from the reality of living in blue states, which send the most federal dollars to DC only to see them end up in the pockets of Red States, where the locals suck vigorously at the teat of the very federal government they claim to condemn.

Consider 9 of the the top 10 states who depend the most on Federal dollars are red states. They don't want the fountain of cash coming their way to shut off, and return it to the people who actually EARNED their money.

The real irony is any conservative found arguing that the 2017 tax law is fair taxation, since it greatly expanded the federal government's ability to unfairly tax residents of individual states more than others, and expanded the fedral government's power of taxation. That's what Mitch McConnell & crew have really supported.

Face it, places like Kentucky are the true welfare states.

Sanders isn't, either. He's a capitalist, but with a slightly deeper understanding of human costs.

There are multiple definitions. some define a system with government regulation of production but a free market and elections.   Sanders views seem similar to the European form of socialism.   From the preamble of European socialist party (PES,  2011)...

Market forces, driven by finance and greed, are annexing huge amounts of power from democratic control. These forces serve the interests of a privileged few. Conservatives and neo-liberals, have deepened economic, geographic and social inequalities, promoting a system of short-termism, easy profits and loose rules that has led to the worst crisis in modern times. We reject the politics of pessimism that claim that nothing can be done. We reject the language of hate that makes people, and whole communities, scapegoats for the ills in societies. Instead, we work to build inclusive societies and a better future for all. We need a new progressive global agenda to enable the fruits of globalization to benefit all. This is a matter of political choice and responsibility.

The word “ Socialism” has nothing to do with Sanders calling out the phoniness of Pelosi, Schumer, and the democrat party.

Quote
The Good, the Chad, & the Ugly - The GCandU

We live about a ten minute walk from Times Square, which, you may have heard, had a shooting over the weekend.

The interesting thing about the shooting is how it exposed the biggest lie gun nuts tell us - that a "good guy with a gun will stop a bad guy with a gun."

See these dudes here? They are always in Times Square. At any time, every day, there are at least four to six armored police officers carrying fully loaded Colt M4 Commando rifles in ready position.

Not only that, there is an actual police station right smack dab in the middle of Times Square, along with any number of police vehicles at any time, usually at least half a dozen, and that's not to mention all the regular patrol officers milling around.

And still a shooting happened.

And still the shooter was not stopped.

Folks, the NRA is lying to us.

They have FLOODED America with guns.

If more guns meant less shootings, if good guys with guns prevented or at least stopped bad guys with guns, the United States of America would have few to none in terms of shootings.

But it doesn't.

Instead, more guns has, surprise surprise, led to more shootings.

Yesterday, in Colorado Springs, on Mother's Day, a man shot six people to death before killing himself.

A story about the shooting actually said "this was the first mass shooting in Colorado Springs since March 24 when a man killed 10 people in a grocery store."

Hey remember that shooting? not even two months ago, and the media is treating it like ancient history.

Anyway, in this most recent mass shooting in Colorado Springs, the bad guy with the gun stopped the bad guy with the gun, because he killed himself.

That's the far more likely scenario.

Meanwhile, there's the NRA tweeting out a picture of a woman and her daughter toting rifles with a caption saying they're not victims or whatever.

In short, once again implying if you have a gun, you're safe.

This. Is. A. Lie.

Ask the mother and daughter who were shot in Times Square if the squadron of trained tactical officers with M4s AT THE READY did anything to prevent or stop them from getting shot.

Nope.

More guns is not the answer to stopping shootings.

Making guns easier than ever to obtain for just about anyone is not the answer to stopping shootings.

What would help?

Eliminating the NRA for one. At best they have a vested financial interest in selling firearms that is continually making things worse.

At worst, and this is really what they are, they have become a domestic terror organization, now at least party funded by a hostile foreign power.

If you're gonna bleat about the Second Amendment, save it. That was put into place by slaveowners who thought women didn't have the right to vote and was meant to supplement a standing army.

As for the "overthrow tyrants" part, yeah, the idiots who spout that crap are the same ones who participated in and/or supported the domestic terror attack on the Capitol last January.

So where are we?

"Thoughts and prayers" is not working.

"More guns" is not working.

And "the good guy with a gun" trope is just another lie told by traitorous, insecure man-children, who just want to feel tough.
