What's missing from several posters here is a grasp of what terrorism comes from.   Groups of people that lack the military power to wage war tend to respond to stronger oppressors with terror attacks.   I haven't read up the thread yet,  but I feel someone is going to point out that one person's terrorist is another person's freedom fighter.

The status of the American Samoans irked me for quite a while until 2015, the last time this issue wandered through our courts, when their elected officials came out against it for a variety of reasons.

It still makes no sense to me that they would be "nationals" but not citizens, but I don't see their status changing any time soon.

He was a human being whose murder galvanized the entire western world.

Moderate Democrats negotiate away the power gained through election and put together a half assed program that doesn’t begin to address what’s needed to alleviate what ails society. Republicans won’t vote for the provisions after getting all the concessions they demanded.

Constituents continue to suffer and Republicans blame Democrats for not fixing the shit the GOP fucked up in the first place.

Wash, rinse, repeat.
