I see Horace Clarke died last week. I am reminded of the poster on the old NYT fora from India who talked of his love for the greats of Yankees past "and especial Horace Clarke" with great Yankee fans like puddinhead6 on one rainy NE Ohio Saturday when I was really bored and felt like dicking around.

RIP Horace. One of my favorite Yankees from my favorite Yankee era.

Horace truly represented to many the golden age of Yankee baseball.

RIP

Well, that was the joke in "O. P. Chandrashekar" referring to him as a Yankee fan.

I think the Boston Rays have a good chance this year!

Indians option Cleavinger and Plesac for Trumpish behavior.

Indians option Cleavinger and Plesac for Trumpish behavior.

Clevinger issued this heartfelt, deep apology.

Then the Indians "punished" him by sending him to the lower 30 roster and he burst a gasket about the unfairness of it all. "They're saying I'm a bad teammate!" for example.

Mike, you were a bad teammate! And now you are being one, again.

To my mind, he deserves whatever (legal) punishment they choose to give him at this point.

I have not heard as much about Plesac.

We need to play Detroit more often.

Today marks the 100th anniversary of the despicable murder of Ray Chapman by the blood thirsty murdering Yankee bastard Carl Mays.

I think there is nothing wrong with Fernando Tatis Jr.'s swinging away on the 3-0 count, other than if he had a sign telling him not to (and even then).

Clearly, the answer is, "Josh! Stop watching our games!"

Avoided getting even closer to our record of losses in a row, this time, at least!

Zoom!

The Red Sox have climbed from having lost 75% of their games all the way to losing a mere 66% of their games!

It's so exciting! If we can extend this winning streak to 12 (double our total wins prior to the streak's start) we can make it back to 50% wins! So exciting. A 63.63% winning record for the remainder of the season to break even. Sure, we can do that!

But hey, we're only 5.5 games back from the 8th playoff slot.

Our GM was asked, prior to tonight's game, when it would be time to decide to buy, sell, or stand pat. He expressed the hope that we would get really hot in this next week and force it to be a decision instead of something terribly clear.

Tonight's exciting 9-1 defeat may have helped to clarify it for him.
