What? No mourning for Julio?
Brought your more rings than No-mah!
Not pale enough for the Boston "faiithful", I guess.
He certainly was here for more rings than Nomar was. Or Captain Carl, for that matter. Or Jim Ed or Luis.
Your baiting aside, it still wasn't and isn't Lugo's color that made him... less beloved than others of that time. We still love Pedro more than Schilling and Rice more than Greenwell. Nomar was an outsized personality.
And your "Lugone" was pretty clever, but certainly did not evince great solemnity on his passing by you, either!
Day before his 45th birthday. I have no sense of what his post-baseball life was like, unlike bunches of other players who were in Boston. He largely just passed through here, as he did in many of his stops. A lot of teams for the years he played, though nowhere near record territory, I suspect.
2007 was his only majorly impactful year for us, but even his strong hitting in the WS didn't overall amount to as much as one might have expected. He'd probably have been able to get free drinks for life in Boston, but not much in terms of promotional opportunities compared with several of his teammates.
Like that Ortiz fellow - of course, that's probably just because Ortiz is white, right?
