If you can change how people think and feel, then you can change how they behave. And movies and television shows and music, etc, can all change how people think and feel, and thus the Entertainment Industry has the power to change how people behave.

It is important to have locally owned studios here in Hollywood to convey our local message and to employ our local people, and we need altruistic companies which put California first.

Just bizarre.  It was minus 10 (F.) when we woke up.  Up to five above now, which is the warmest temp in three days.

Global warming?

Why yes.   Greater solar gain in the atmosphere pumps energy into wilder weather, disruptions in the polar jet stream that suddenly drops arctic air into the temperate zone, with more extremes and the amazingly steep temperature gradients over a few hundred miles (as shown in the graphic).  All this was predicted by climate scientists as far back as the seventies.

Also worth noting that January and first part of February were well above seasonal norms across the northern tier of states as well as up and down the Eastern Seaboard.  And the continued acceleration of glacier and ice cap melting.

Don't give a shit if you believe scientists but I don't plan to let partisan climate denier innuendos pollute even this forum and have gullible lurkers think they have any validity.  The evidence for rapid anthropogenic global warming is overwhelming and past predictions are proving to be true (some were in fact overly conservative).  Science, unlike lying partisan hacks and fossil fuel shills, doesn't start out with preconceived fantasies and then cherry pick and skew data to fit those fantasies.

This rain and snow here in California and in the West was desperately needed. The states which depend on the Colorado River were all getting edgy. Now we have rain and snow, so we will be okay.

And the USA needs to keep investing in dams and in aguaducts and in creating new man made lakes, etc. And the United States Government can build dams and they can create lakes and then they can sell the water and the electricity from the dams to the people, like with Lake Mead. The United States Government is selling water and electricity from Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. And now Las Vegas has 650,000 people. We need to keep spending money to improve our water system and to better sustain our water supply.

Of note too, is that California needs the water to grow food and to make wine, etc. The problems in Ukraine also mean that California needs to produce more food. California needs the water to grow food.

There was a guy on television who said that America can benefit from expanding cattle ranching in Arkansas. Farming and ranching can be expanded in Arkansas where the weather is good and where the water is plentiful.

Here is a link for the Future Farmers of America in Arkansas which can help to teach the people of Arkansas how to be farmers and ranchers.

Arkansas FFA Association

https://www.arkansasffa.org

And they can make cheese in Arkansas, etc.

The way to bring down the high prices of food is to expand production, and Arkansas can help us to expand food production here in the USA.

While it is true that we need to put ourselves first, and while we need to make sure that the needs of our own people are met, here is what the Bible says in regard to helping other people, along with what the Bible says in Mathew 25; 31-46 about helping the poor and the needy.

-----

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility consider one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. - Philippians 2:3-4

--------

Christians are supposed to help each other.

But so too are we supposed to help our 60,000 homeless people on the streets of Los Angeles, we need to help others, but so too must we help our own homeless people.

Blizzards and snow in California
Hollywood got a mention.
Snow on the beach at Santa Cruz.

Break out the buckets, and save the water for the summer.

Colombia elected a new President in 2022, and they elected a former rebel guerilla from M-19, and now Colombia is friends with Venezuela again. I do not like the sound of it.

But, he is a Catholic, and his wife recently held a private meeting with Pope Francis at the Vatican. Pope Francis is a man of peace, and generosity.

There was an actor named Paul Robeson, and he was a Communist, he ended up getting black listed along with Uta Hagen. What saved Paul Robeson is that he discovered the Catholic Church, and he saw the Brotherly Love of Christians, and he learned how Christians are supposed to help the poor and the needy and the orphans, etc, and he discovered that the Church met the needs of the people and that there was no need to be Communist. If people love each other, and if people help each other, then there is no need for Communism. Freedom with Christianity and the 10 Commandments and with the Golden Rule to Love Your Neighbor is all we need, there is no need for Communism.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Robeson

So, if the President of Colombia is a Christian, and if he loves and respects Pope Francis, and if he loves his neighbors, then everything will be fine. The Catholic Church needs to embrace and help to guide the President of Colombia and we need to help the Colombian people, we need to continue to support schools for the poor children in Colombia, and we need to donate libraries to the poor villages in Colombia, etc. We need to draw close with our allies in Colombia.

Also, the Fashion Industry can be expanded in Colombia, and the Entertainment Industry, etc, and the World Bank supports such ventures.

We can also continue to support the Colombian Coffee Industry, etc.

We are so lucky, we need the water, and the Western states which depend on the Colorado River were all getting edgy, people were getting ready to fight over water. California owns the rights to the water for our farmers, and for our people, and so some of the other states were getting ready to rebel against California owning the water rights. The rain and snow came just in time to help us to keep the peace, we have plenty of water for now, so there is no need to fight over water. But, we need to plan for the future, and we need to build more dams, and lakes, and new aguaducts, etc.
