2019 Draft
« Reply #16 on: March 04, 2019, 01:33:08 PM »

Everyone expects NYG to take a QB in the 1st round.

But y tho?

The team has a lot of needs and the may as well extend their QB in place.  (Renegotiate the deal offer another year for a smaller cap hit)

BPA.

LB.

Olivier Vernon traded

for a former #1 draft pick and highest paid ever RG
Giants save 1.5 mil on the 2019 cap.

Once DG signs a RT in FA and drafts a couple backups in the 5th rd, the O-Line will be completely re-built.

Eli will have a line to defend him and Saquaon will have bigger holes to exploit.

1st round, will be either an Edge Rusher or OLB.

Sweat. or White.

Yeah.....defense makes sense at #1

I like the idea of looking at the U Buffalo QB

Giants are looking closely at the Duke QB Daniel Jones.

Regarding Josh Rosen the Giants do not want to trade any of their first three picks for him (6, 17, 37)

They are also wary of Rosen wanting to start right away and creating a controversy with Eli, who was promised to start.

Jones is the pick.  Giants pass on Haskins.

The word was the Skins would take Jones if the Giants took Haskins.

So the criticism is that the Giants did not trade up from 17 or down from 6 to get Jones and more.

Valid criticism of DG.

End of the world?

Nope.

If Allen turns out to be a superstar and Jones a bust Gettleman will be gone. So of course he's going to say Jones could sit for three years.

Lawrence might be a good pick. Did we give up too much to get the CB? Probably.

Guess DG was picked because he bought the Eli koolaid. Sub-standard QBing for the past half decade. Dont think Jones is the answer. Giant could be like the Lions of the Barry Sanders era?

Hmmm

Maybe

Wouldnt kill the Giants to not win a title in the Barkley era.  Lets see them just get back to playoff football.

Well, also better players and better drafting. Cf., Andre Ware.

Giants just get worse. Bad owners seem to end up in NY. Terrible team effort, little talent.

Have not seen a jint QB run around like that in some time. How slow is too slow. Eli is 5 years too slow. Just too easy too defend.
