I'll take the over (8.5).

Much more concerned about the defense.

Edelman was a cog for Brady, not a star.

Edelman was a cog for Brady, not a star.

The win total was 8.5 before Newton signed, the Pats real win total as 9- 9.5

https://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/odds/win-totals

I got them as 8-9 win team

Hightower, Van Noy, Collins and Chung are big losses on D and that's supposed to be the strength of the 2020 Pats

the young LBs Bently Winovich, Roberts are going to have to step it up

Re Edelman: so you think an aging and banged up Edelman will finally emerge from being a JAG, to a star, under a new QB still learning the system.

Jules if he stays healthy may be the best WR on the Pats, which is the problem, he'll be the guy that draw doubles.

I love Jules, he's a great competitor, and a pretty good football player, but he may get killed as Newton's safety valve.

At just 8.5 with solid juice, the Patriots should win this NFL betting pick. Some totals are set at 9 with much less juice. Getting to double digit wins will be extremely tough and I lack confidence to take the over on that total. They will hover around .500 for the majority of the season. I like the over on 8.5, but anything more and I would take a pass. Something to remember is the Patriots have not hit an under since 2009. Yes, they have either pushed or hit the over for the last decade. At 8.5 wins, I like the NFL odds and I look for that trend to continue

not the betting #.

the # went from 8.5 to 9-9,5 after Newton signed.

Quote
you said 8-8

I feel like I'm going into this season totally blind re the NFL and the Pats.

heh

Pretty much just a referendum on Newton

I think Pats will still be a bitch to contend with

Not a referendum on Newton, but my concerns about

a new QB learning a new system

a new QB with no pre-season to speak of

a team which is woefully short of talented WRs

so I have concerns about the offense

The D should be ok but they are missing a lot of talent from last year (mostly LBs)

the AFC-E is probably a year away from being decent, the Bills might be the best team in the AFC-E

Any reasons why a team you are wholly unfamiliar with are going to be a bitch to contend with?

I see them at best as a 8-9 win team

Some 9s mixed in with the 8.5s

Laying 150 to win 100 on the over 8.5

OVER is the bet

At 9 I'd still make the over bet

Gonna see if I can find 8.5 somewhere - and place an actual bet - make this interesting.

heh

you're only fooling yourself and exposing yourself as a disingenuous idiot

the betting # is 9-9.5 at -110

but if you want to bet 8.5 over at -150or -160, you can.

you can probably get the over of 7.5 at -180 or whatever

Click on NFL, futures, then win totals

They have some alterrnate prices if you scroll own - for instance +750 for over 11.5 Patriot wins

Over 8.5 you have to lay 150 for 100

Summing up -

Bank is a no play on under 8.5 and would play the under 9

I would play the over on both 8.5 and 9.

Summing up Bank has the Pats as a 8-9 win team.

They are unlikely to win 8.5

Summing up kid tried to pass off a bet that every bettor in the world would have to risk 150 to win 100, (ie over 8.5) as a normal -110 bet, until he got called on his bullshit.

Get those shots and snide remarks in

It's what you do.

Shopping around gives a better rate on the 8.5.  I just used the site I am familiar with.

Think I get the winning end of this one.  66 bucks on the hundy bet.  And a nice payoff if Pats win 10+

kid I don't care about what you bet or pretend to bet.

You tried to bullshit me about the Pats ou and i called you out on it.

And now you confess that the bet you said you liked carries a large premium to what you initially conveyed was a -110 at the market bet.

You got caught in another lie,

that's true.

kid can't admit he's wrong-about anything.

He'll just change the subject and move on to the next thing to be wrong about.

Fortunately kid's bullshit is just his ongoing immaturity and has no real consequences.
