My thoughts on Cam haven't changed much since last year, when we had a direct conversation about my misgivings of his role as a starting QB for the Pats.
Recently, I posted about the QB competition in NE and how it may play out.

that's it?

A question I answered at length a year ago and advised you of the risks, and again a week or so ago, is one you say I won't answer?

If he stinks, well, you said you arent a Cam guy

Who should start?  Newton or the rookie?

Any fan has an answer for this.

Lmao
Kid can't hold two thoughts in his pin head.
I gave my reservations about Cam to kid lat year and they were on target. But I recognized the challenges of covid on him. I'm still not a Cam guy and as I believe I posted a week or so ago, the pats may switch horses mid-stream.

Good to see we agree though that Newton should be the starter

I think you're the only one who can twist that.

He's not a Cam guy and if Cam does well, he will say "good for him," but he won't claim to have always liked him.

Find a mirror for that.

(OTOH, "Let's go!" is pretty vague about Tebow.)

He didn't say that.

I posted a poll re Cam/Mac and the Pats QB competition on SoSH

https://www.sonsofsamhorn.net/index.php?threads/poll-cam-mac-brian-or.34343/

As we approach the second exhibition game tonight it appears Cam has the edge to start the season at QB. He has experience, BB's public confidence, is a snappy dresser, and along with some new offensive tools to work with and a decent defense could lead the Pats into a shallow play-off run. That is to say an improvement over last year's 7-9, maybe 9-8, or 10-7.

I think we have a fair amount of low-scoring 20-17 games in our future, and a probable road loss in wk 1 in the post-season. In short we'll be sort of middle of the pack mediocre +.

There has been some speculation that Cam will get the first 4 games (the 4th being Tampa @ Foxboro and Gronk's return) and depending upon the results that BB may make a switch. Or if the Pats get off to a decent start early BB may stay the QB course.

Now not to pin the team's successes or short comings all on Cam, I think I'd rather roll the dice with Mac and see what he can do, as I think the long-term upside is a higher, and the more experience given to Mac the better, even if it means rookie mistakes.

Who's your choice and if you feel like it, why?

About 74% of the 165 respondents prefer Mac.

A good night for the Pats and both QBs.

Cam was fine but Mac might have been a little sharper.

Both QBs mostly relied on a ground game, but Mac has a better touch and superior range. But tonight both seemed totally in control and comfortable with the offense.

The Iggles, both sides of the ball, were terrible, so its hard to judge a lot with this game.

But to the extent there was a QB controversy, it only got ratched up, at least in the minds of fans.

But it looks like its Cam's to lose.
